CLAIMS DENIED
i have filed 2 claims, one for a UTI that was denied as they stated it was a pre-existing condition as our dog had had one 5 months prior. Not sure how that is pre-existing as it isn't for a human - you sometimes just get them. The other one was for a sprain and again denied. Our dog jumped up to get a squirrel that ran up a tree and came down and landed wrong and hurt her leg. She was not seen by the vet just a phone call, they just gave her anti inflammatory and 7 days later was fine. 8 months later (last week) she was running and stepped into a hole and sprained her wrist on the same leg - CLAIM DENIED!!!! PRE EXSITING CONDITION. Not sure how a sprain qualifies for that but for them it does. been paying 70.00 a month for about 8 months and have got nothing. She was diagnosed with arthritis now so denying this as well. Don't waste your money!

Don't throw your money away!
Have had this insurance since my dog was a puppy, specifically to avoid pre-existing conditions. They will absolutely do everything in their power to deny every claim. They also say they do not raise their prices as your dog gets older, but our cost was raised 20% every year in the last four year for "an increase in industry prices". We have used PetsBest before and would them again, but would never use Trupanion. Buyer beware - you are throwing your money away!!

Very grateful
When I found out my dog was going to need surgery, I was worried at first before I submitted a pre approval. I was surprised at how fast and easy it was. I was approved right away. My dog had his surgery yesterday and is home. If I'd wasn't for Trupanion I really don't know what I would have done Thank you Trupanion you are awesome
They lied about coverage so I would sign up
I specifically asked them if they would cover my dog for any accidents after he had a surgery over 18 months ago and was assures they would. After I signed on with them, they changed their minds. Don't buy in to their sales.

Cheap and useless
The rates are inexpensive alright, but when it comes to reimbursement, they will get very creative in making excuses to not pay. After weeks of back and forth with the claim specialists, my claim finally got $0 reimbursement, and the reasons were ridiculous. I do NOT recommend the provider.

Misinforms their customers
I took my dog into the vet for vaccines and a check up and they discovered she needed to have two teeth extracted and a lump mass removed. I sent the estimate for this procedure over to Embrace to be pre-certified and they told me over $2,000 of the procedure estimate was approved for coverage. I proceeded with the procedure and when I submitted my invoice after the procedure, Embrace only refunded me a quarter of the amount they originally told me. I contacted Embrace twice after receiving the news about my low refund and they told me someone would get back to me with the details the next business day, no one did. No one can explain to me why they told me one amount and then refunded me something completely different. I sent Embrace another email outlining my experience with the coordinating claim numbers, amounts, details, etc. and haven’t heard anything back. I just keep receiving emails to review my experience, which I was waiting to do in hopes that Embrace would resolve this before I had to leave a poor review but they did not. This is incredibly disappointing, I don’t know why I pay for insurance for my dog when it doesn’t do much. Embrace is not a trustworthy company.
