Tried to file a claim and they said I…

Tried to file a claim and they said I couldn’t file a claim within the two week waiting period. I have been with the company for seven months with my puppy. And because their decision was final- I now have to fight it with their insurance company Haven insurance. It has been over a month and I still have not heard a decision.

Shady "claims surcharge" introduction

We have been with Fetch for both of our dogs for 3 (younger) or 4 (older) years. The premiums have been ticking up annually, but usually manageably. In 2023, they decided to introduce something they have called a "claims surcharge" - essentially a penalty for having used your insurance. It took months of talking to tens of customer service people to figure it out, but we ultimately found out that there are 10%, 20% and 30% penalty tiers based on how many years you have been reimbursed over $250 for. We were in the 20% camp. With a 6 year old dog, 20% of our premium in surcharge is A LOT of money - more money than we were willing to pay on top of the already-sizeable annual premium increase. We were also told that it would take 3 years of claims under $250 to be reduced to the 10% penalty camp. This whole thing seems SUPER SHADY and we have cancelled and are taking our chances with a new insurance company as we can't keep paying hundreds of dollars per month only to get slapped with a "claims surcharge" for ever using the insurance we pay so much for. Hard nope. Do not recommend.

You are "Spot" on with my claims

Spot Pet Insurance has been "spot" on for me. There isn't anything so far that I disprove of. You handle my claims in a timely manner & keep me updated on the member site. I chose for my small dog accident, wellness, illness & am very pleased with them thus far.

Don’t go with Trupanion

Will take months to review a claim and will do everything possible to figure out the lowest amount to cover. Won’t complete due diligence of contacting the veterinarian to verify anything. Makes it the owners responsibility to contact the veterinarian and ask them to fight the claim on your behalf. Not sure what the point of having insurance is when they never cover anything, take months to get back to you, and then you have to play the role of the insurer anyway. They used to be the #1 pet insurance but they’re really terrible now. There’s way better out there, so steer clear.

Nationwide has saved my dogs life

If you are looking at getting insurance. Look no further. Nationwide has been the best insurance and best decision I could have made for my English bulldogs life. The claims are easy to submit and I couldn’t be happier.
