Absolutely terrible service

Absolutely terrible service! Do not expect to get reimbursed promptly. It takes well over 30 days to get reimbursed. You’ll often be asked for more information that IS attached to your claim yet they’ll say it’s missing. They’ll also close your claim automatically without notice or without any follow up as to what’s missing. It’s a constant back and forth with them. Just yesterday I spoke to someone on the phone who clearly articulated what my claim is missing. I submitted the information. Now today I received yet another email saying I’m still missing information. This whole process is beyond frustrating.

Don't buy Metlife pet insurance …

Until 6 months ago I was happy with Metlife but now I am receiving the same runaround as everyone else. I am repeatedly told to resubmit the same documents, the phone staff say that they have everything and that they are "making a note" for the claim reviewers, then 3 days later another 4 am email telling me to submit paperwork. Their latest game is requiring proof of previous insurance, even for brand new conditions and illnesses. If a health insurance company for people tried this they would be fine and shut down. The middle of the night emails are making me think that claims processing has been outsourced to overseas contractors. I would avoid Metlife at all costs!

Pointless waste of money

Pointless waste of money. We are trying to figure out what is wrong with my dog. They blame everything on "pre existing condition" from when she was literally a puppy and we were having issues potty training her. There is ONE note in her vet file about this. So now any tests, and ER visits when she reacted badly to antibiotics, are referred to as pr existing conditions. My other dog had a minor bill and that also was still out of pocket as part of a deductible. I did the math and it is simply smarter for me to put $120 in savings every month instead of trupanion. I will never, EVER trust them. I need to get that same dog allergy tests, and I'm confident they will twist that into "pre existing conditions" because I didn't enroll her until she was 1. What a scam.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance is the Best

I had the put in a claim for my dog, Princess Winnie. First of all, and I mean this sincerely, I never dealt with an insurance company, pet or human, who took care of my claim so quickly, I can honestly tell you the whole process, including receiving payment for my claim, took about a little over a week. I am not kidding. Also, I received an email asking how Princess Winnie was doing. After I sent the email, I got a response from Healthy Paws again. I am so impressed with this company. I cannot believe how great the service was. Thanks.

Highly recommend them!

I got pet insurance for my new kittens right after I adopted them. One of them has had a slew of health issues over the past year and Healthy Paws has really been there for me and my fur child. They are fast and they’ve got great customer support. Can’t recommend them enough!

Avoid Embrace!

Avoid purchasing insurance from Embrace! When we purchased our dog’s insurance in March 2023, Embrace assigned him the pre-existing temporary condition of diarrhea. Embrace stated that a temporary condition could be eligible for coverage in the future if our dog were to remain symptomatic free for 12 months from the most recent occurrence. Now, almost one year later, and with no signs of diarrhea since the policy began, Embrace is restarting the clock for another year. Furthermore, they are adding an additional pre-existing condition of dermatological issues and denying covering anything related to it going forward (including itching, allergies, hot spots, ear infections, eye infections, etc.), despite them covering all of these dermatological issues for the past year. On top of all of this, they are refusing to pay for an allergy test that they pre-approved in writing and had already stated that they would cover. We are currently in the process of submitting an appeal and if it is not accepted, then we will be reporting them to the California Department of Insurance. If Embrace fixes this, I will be happy to update this review, but at this time I would not recommend Embrace. I feel extremely disappointed in their service and find their practices self-serving. Embrace makes up the rules as they go to benefit themselves financially. Do not purchase an insurance policy with Embrace!

corrupt!! do a deep research before you sign

Avoid choosing Petplan for your pet insurance needs. Despite having coverage for my three cats for seven years, they consistently raise rates annually and possess the authority to make changes at their discretion, as outlined in the policy documents. Recently, upon my cat turning seven, they decreased coverage from 90% to 60%. The customer service experience is abysmal, with unhelpful and impolite representatives, including managers who seem uninformed. Unfortunately, switching to another provider isn't an option due to preexisting condition clauses. Petplan operates with minimal accountability, leaving policyholders powerless. Exercise caution when selecting a pet insurance provider, as once committed, options become limited. Numerous negative reviews echo my sentiments, revealing a pattern of dissatisfaction with Petplan's practices.

AWESOME Customer Care

Gerrone was AWESOME! He answered all my questions and took great care to help and assist me with my inquiry. He was very conscientious and professional in his approach and really worked to help me with my beloved chihuahua, Sargent :) Certainly recommend calling the carrier should you need any help. My customer advocate, Gerrone, was patient, kind, and provided the utmost service! He took extra steps to assist me and was a pleasant person to speak with, which is rare these days when you have questions! I am beyond happy and will recommend without hesitation. Thank you!!

Embrace has taken 15 days and my claim has not been resolved. No response or anything. Customer service is useless. They are not the best. Using Embrace has been a huge mistake
