So Glad I Got Pet Insurance

Healthy Paws insurance was a lifesaver when my pup ruptured her CCL Christmas Eve and needed surgery a week later. There was a bit of a hiccup getting the various computer systems at HP to accept and combine health records, which resulted in delay in processing the bill for the emergency room visit. However, once this was cleared up, the bill for the actual surgery was processed and money auto deposited within 48hours of submitting the claim. One other thing (clearly spelled out in the policy, but good to remember) is that this plan covers “treatment” (X-rays, surgery, medicine) but not fees for office visits or consultations. Explanation of benefits was very clear and customer service employees were very helpful. I took the dog to Spry Companions in Centennial CO, where both doctors have over 10 years experience with CCL surgery and it was a great experience.

do not treat their long time costumers well.

We have been with pets plus us since 2017 when we got our puppy. Recently we were double charged ( the month of december) great timing with christmas. We called to find out why and they said their mistake, they didnt charge the month prior so they had to double charge. While we were on the phone the staff was confirming all our information. We had realized that we hadn't changed our home address with them when we moved 2 years ago. We asked why this is important, she said it makes a difference for the payments. OK. We gave her our new address and she said the payment had dropped significantly. We were paying 76.00 monthly ( living in DT ottawa), and with our new address it dropped down to 35.00 which we were stocked about since we were already paying so mich monthly. We said we cannot back date but your next payment in Januuary will reflect the changes. Come January payment no changes made. We called to find out why only to be told thats not true and our payments did not change. Told them to refer to notes on call, listen to call recording of the phone call. We were rudly told theres nothing they can do and basically that we were making it up and our payments didn't change. When asked to speak to a supervisor/manager about the incident we were told the call back time was 8-10 bussiness days. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? 8-10 days to speak to a supervisor. This is ridicously. For long time customers. Totally unacceptable. I will be looking elsewhere.

Great help for procedure prior to med use

This claim was for a procedure done prior other medical procedures our vet had recommended. The vet's office wanted to make sure our cat's heart could manage the effects of anesthetic used during the procedures. We appreciate the thoroughness of the review of the claims department personnel.

Amazing!

I just can not give this company enough praise. I want to say that I have never had any sort of medical instance for as quickly and stress free, dog or human. In a very quick turn of events we went from seeing a vet for a consult to our dog having surgery. It was such an easy process and the staff at the hospital told us the Trupanion was the best. “They are super quick with pre-approvals and usually settle within a day.” You never know when you purchase insurance, will it really be what they are selling? But we had gotten the 90/10 ratio coverage for our French Bulldog. And yes, they paid 90% of the bill. With our deductable and our co-pay we paid about 1,000$ on a 6400$ bill. I can’t tell you how important it is to get pet insurance. I can’t imagine having to sit in that room, hear what your pet needs and wonder if you have enough money in your savings for it. Or if you have a credit card with enough to cover it. Something that could have been stressful was just not a worry. I kept saying, “no problem, we have good insurance” and they truly proved it. I will always have pet insurance and it will always be with Trupanion!

Love them!

The only thing that holds up payment is my lack of filing the claim. They are always helpful when I call, and take care of my claim in a timely manner.

Brownie's Journey: Why Healthy Paws Became My Rock

Brownie's been my best friend for almost nine years. We've shared countless tail wags, muddy paw prints, and a whole lot of love. I always knew I needed the best insurance to protect her health, so I picked Healthy Paws – and let me tell you, it's been the smartest decision ever. For eight years, things were easy. Brownie was as healthy as a pup can be, just needing routine checkups and shots. Healthy Paws was there in the background, like a silent superhero ready to leap if trouble ever showed up. But nine months ago, everything changed. Brownie got hit with bone cancer. My heart broke, but I knew we had to fight. That's when Healthy Paws became more than just an insurance company – they became our partners in this battle. Filing the first claim was a breeze. No endless paperwork, no hoops to jump through, just quick and understanding support. Every single claim – all $30,000+ for radiation, chemo, surgery, even her heartbreaking amputation – was approved and in my bank account within 10 days! It was like a financial superhero delivering a truckload of cash, letting me focus on what mattered most – getting Brownie better. But it wasn't just about the money. The Healthy Paws team was amazing. They called to check on Brownie, offered words of encouragement, and treated her like their own furry family. Their compassion was a lifesaver during those dark days. Recently, Brownie's had another setback – congestive heart failure, likely from the chemo. And guess what? Healthy Paws is right there again, ready to fight alongside us. My experience with Healthy Paws has been incredible. They've gone above and beyond, making them way better than any other insurance company I've ever dealt with, for pets or people. They're not just a policy, they're a promise of support, a safety net when the world throws you a curveball. If you have a furry friend you adore, don't think twice. Get Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. It's not just insurance, it's peace of mind. It's knowing that no matter what life throws your pup's way, they won't face it alone. Thank you, Healthy Paws, for being Brownie's miracle. You gave me the strength to fight, the hope to keep believing, and the unwavering support to never give up. You're not just an insurance company, you're heroes with furry-friend hearts. A forever Healthy Paws customer and Brownie's biggest cheerleader.

Best Pet Insurance

Our 4.5 year old lab had a surgical operation for a torn ACL. We submitted a claim with Healthy Paws the same evening. In the morning we got a response that the claim was approved and 80% (per our coverage) reimbursement check is on the way. Can’t ask for a better service when you go through a difficult time. Best experience ever!

Always great, fast service

It is stressful enough when your pup is sick, but ASPCA takes the concern out of submitting claims by the very user friendly website. They also reply with the final review and decision on your claim quickly. They are always fair which takes the financial stress out of the process as well.
