Terrible Business. Pick Anyone but Trupanion
Greedy, terrible customer service, and with hidden policies. They do not make clear that you have to have the veterinarian call in to explain to the claims department that they have no right to deny a legitimate claim. They don’t make clear the “waiting periods” until AFTER you have already signed up and boast about their waiting times being THE LONGEST WAIT AMONG ALL INSURANCE. So you better hope your pet doesn’t get sick, ill, or bitten by anything for the first 30+ days. They also don’t have a complaint department, so all complaints have to be sent to places like this and BBB. They will send you to a “manager” (even when you have asked repeatedly not to) who is only there to re-explain the policy. No conflict resolution- just a parrot who interrupts, talks over you, and states that something is “clearly stated” when in reality it is not. Since a small hyperlink at the bottom of the payment page that takes you to another page of documents, that takes you to another page….. is not “clearly outlining” the policy. Save the time and go with literally anyone else after visiting pawlicyadvisor. Com

Pets Best is clearly the BEST!
They offer great variety of coverage at a very reasonable rate. It is easy to file a claim, and I am notified of the receipt, when it is being worked on, and the results. Very professional. I am so glad I am with Pets Best. I get bombarded with other vendors and I found the best.

My doggie was having routine dental…
My doggie was having routine dental cleaning. During this procedure, vet called and recommended several teeth to be extracted. This was the 1st occurrence that the vet recommended extraction. We had other dental cleanings before this. Vet would call me back within minutes to provide me with extent of surgery and fees. While waiting for vet, I immediately called ASPCA insurance. The rep was extremely kind. She looked at our plan and said since it was the first time having procedure (extractions) that we have a $250 deductible and then our plan would pay 90% up to $3000.00. Submitted claim for $2300.00. When claim was processed it was for only $1000.00. Called and spoke to rep at ASPCA. ASPCA obtained something called SOAP notes from vet office. ASPCA determined that there was a note in 2018 , 6 years ago, that the doggie had a note of dental build up . tarter on teeth. We provide complete vet check up every 6 months with the same facility. When I called to verify why the difference in reimbursement amounts, 50% vs 90%, I was told the 90% would have only happened in 2018, even though it wasn't medically necessary or advised by vet. Now would only be eligible for one time reimbursement of $1000.00 under continuing care. Somehow this doesn't seem right. Would request further explanation for this reasoning of denial of 90% of fees.

Your staff are very polite and helpful
Your staff are very polite and helpful. I am 86, former U S Naval Office and aide to former U S Senator Claiborne Pell, however I am not up on the latest. No I phone, a computer, (tower), at my desk I need paper forms and will submit requests thru fax or the mail and have no idea what you are requesting thru all these electronic introductory's. Thank you
