Scam. Terrible Service. Terrible Customer Service.

Absolutely terrible insurance company. customer service advisor stated that they guaranteed that the under writing would be completed in two 14 days. Waited two months never heard anything back from the company inquired about our pet policy. The customer service rep stated I wasn't a customer with them even though I stated I was and had proof their company had charged my credit card for two months already and I had no idea what was covered or not. A week later we took our dog to the vet as we had concerns about her health. After getting pre approval from the company for a CT scan to see what was wrong with her, I received an email yesterday stating that they will not cover any of the medical expenses as they are trying to say it was a pre existing condition. I asked to speak with a supervisor when I was trying to figure out how they thought it was a pre existing condition and the customer service rep laughed in my face and said they were very busy and shows the supervisor. This company is very inconsiderate and does not care about anything to do with your pet and only cares about collecting their monthly insurance premiums

Worst Service ever

Absolute worst experience I have ever had in my life. Signed up for pet insurance in March, Kimber had a clean bill of health. Agent that helped me sign up for the policy told me that the under writing would take two weeks and they would be in contact with me after that, After not hearing anything from them for over a month and a half I contacted them because we were taking Kimber in to the vet because we had some concerns. The agent I talked to told me I had no insurance with them and it must be with a different company, she was the opposite of helpful and I had to investigate myself and find out why they couldn't find me. Turns out they spelt my name wrong email wrong and my address wrong. after straightening all of that out and being charged for two months and not even knowing I had insurance, we took Kimber in for her appointment. The vet that seen her was concerned with what he saw and needed to do a CT scan which was going to cost us 1700. I said I wanted to wait to see if the insurance was going to cover it or not. The vets receptionist called and the agent she talked to said that all the diagnosing as to what was wrong with Kimber was covered and we went ahead with it. following the testing we were told Kimber had terminal cancer which was NOT a pre existing condition before our policy was put into place with a lot going on mentally and emotionally, I received an email from pet plus us stating they were not covering anything because they figured it was pre existing EVEN Though the vent and specialists stated it was not the same at all. I called in to get more information where I had a very rude customer service agent try help me. I asked to talk to her supervisor and she laughed at me and stated she was which I find extremely rude and unacceptable. She told me that I could have the specialists call in and talk to them and tell them how it was not pre existing, my vet did that and the customer service agent that day would not even speak with her just told the vet there is nothing they are going to do. Pet plus us is nothing but a money grab they charged me for two months worth of premiums and when it was time to pay they completely screwed me over. To add insult to injury my dog had to be put down because I didn't want her to suffer and according to their policy they would pay for that and the cremation. They again denied me. Their policy is horribly written and very vague with lots of grey areas to cover their asses so they can just steal your money and pay nothing. They are a horrible company and I will make sure I voice my opinion everywhere so I can help other pet owners from being screwed out of thousands of dollars and avoid the heart ache I had to go through with this company.

Trupanion Insurance is totally worth it

The claim process is easy and responsive. I feel more confident taking Ivarr in when sick snd getting an early diagnosis. They paid everything but the deductible. No hassle.

No concern over pet health, no notice of 14 day waiting period.

We rescued a dog. Then got insurnace almost immediately. A few days in we noticed a lot of itching. Brought her in for wellness check and to look at the itching. Sure enough the did a bunch of testing and found a few issues. However since we cared about our dig and she needed help, we couldn't wait the 14 day waiting period that I never saw written anywhere. If they care about your pet, especially when someone clearly just rescued the pet, the 14 day waiting period should be waived, or non existent at all. Now because we didnt wait the 14 days, my guess is it will all be considered "pre-existing", all because of a 14 day waiting period. To me that doesnt sound like a company policy that puts pets first.

Best service, coverage, and price.

We have had PetsBest coverage for our cavaliers over the past 10 years. Policy cost is very cost effective. Responsiveness on claims within days. Very easy to submit claims and we have never been denied. So comforting to know we can take care of our precious fur babies if illness or accident occur.

Raised rates after claim

my friends referred me to healthy paws and after having 2 seniors dogs with many illnesses I decided to purchase Healthy paws pet insurance with our new rescue who was about 3 years old. This week, at the age of 5, she was diganosed with a seizure disorder. 2 days after I submit the claim they send me an email telling Me my preimums will increase 10 dollars a month but insist it has nothing to do with past claims. Ive had the insurance for 2 years and never used it and now I use it and 2 days later they increase my rates. I have warned all my dog parents to stay away from healthy paws after this interaction. My dog now has a preexisiting condition so we can’t switch insurance companies unless we accept paying for her illness on our own DONT BUY healthy paws!

Bought insurance for her future needs

After years of crushing vet bills, I bought this insurance for my present rescue dog in anticipation of medical issues in her future. My vet recommended Trupanion. After several years my cherished dig developed kidney issues which are being offset by my policy ensuring her care.

Awesome!

I am so grateful that my vet recommended Trupanion. I got my dog as a puppy (6wks). I bought Ins for him at 2 moths. At 3 months he was diagnosed with HOD, degenerative joint disease, double hip dysplasia and other joint issues. Trupanion has been so helpful. In his care, information and just plain help. I was recommended the rider for him and am ever so grateful that was it not only recommended, but thatni chose to take it! My many boy is currently undergoing lots of diagnostic testing but also has the possibility of lots of future surgeries. Thank you Trupanion for helping us every step of the way!

Absolutely Recommend for Any Pet Parent!! No Hassle Reimbursement

I love, love, love this company. I usually never write reviews, but this company is so fantastic, I felt guilty for not spreading the word. Unfortunately, my poor Labrador who was almost three at the time, had to have TPLO surgery for a torn ACL and meniscus. One day, she started hopping and within minutes, she could only walk on three legs. It was heartbreaking to see. The whole ordeal was a three month long recovery time which required home physical therapy, lots of meds, and kennel rest. The most reassuring part as the financial concerns and knowing my sweet baby girl would be able to walk again. Healthy Paws processed my claim in a week, mailed a check for 90% of the cost, didn’t ask questions about the vet bills, and even checked in to see how she was doing. I had to put in claims for small issues during the earlier parts of her puppyhood, and had great service for those claims as well. The peace of mind I get from having Healthy Paws is immense and I feel I’d be an irresponsible pet parent for not having it. Do yourself and your fuzzy a huge service and get pet insurance. I had a healthy three year old lab and look what we went through. I would have been struggling to have paid a $2500 vet bill. You never know what could happen.
