Very good experience

I have been a member for a few years with no claims wondering about when I really need help whether Trupanion would come thru or not. Well the big medical problem finally came for my best friend, my little Terrier and Trupanion did come thru - true to their words. I have been pleased with their response time and I'm able to get a live human being on the phone whenever I call the, with questions. Thank you Trupanion - for helping to give my dog quality of life.

Not perfect but it worked

Trupanion broke my claim per day instead of per incident. I end up having 4 different claims. Despite that, the claim was fair and quick.

Brady's Diagnosis

We have an 18 month old soft coated wheaten terrier. His name is Brady. He has been having moderate to severe tummy troubles for almost a year now. He was just diagnosed with a food allergy. I wasn't aware at how fast diagnostic tests can run up expenses! We have had Trupanion pet insurance the whole time with Brady. We started with a free month when he was a new puppy and we kept on as he got his first ear infection to his latest round of diagnostic tests including an Addison's test. Trupanion has been a life saver. We have been covered completely and with such fast claims service. We have been able to look after our dog without a worry because we knew we were covered and could get him the care he needed. We now have to have Brady on a special diet and the pet insurance will cover cost of food by 50%! I would recommend Trupanion to anyone with a pet as it is peace of mind at a time of need.

Excellent benefits with quick claim reimbursement

My 3 year old dog Scooby had a black growth on her gums on her lower jaw which was covering up 3 of her teeth. I took her to my vet who told me that the growth looked like a condition called Epilus which has three types. 2 are benign and 1 is precancerous which usually invades and degenerates the jaw bone. Our first course of action was to surgically remove the growth, send it in for pathology and take an X-ray of her jaw. This procedure cost us 986.68. We submitted our claim to Healthy Paws the same day as the surgery and immediately got an e-mail requesting the records from our veterinarian. it took them a few days to get Healthy paws the records but once they received them they processed our claim within a few days and sent out a check reimbursing us the following day paying 90% of her surgery. We have a $100 a year deductible which was applied to this claim so we received a check for $712.03. Unfortunately our story does not end there. The x-rays and pathology came back that Scooby did have the pre cancerous Epilus so we were referred to a specialist for yet another surgery. This time they had to do a CT scan on Scooby and remove 3 of her teeth and a section of her jaw bone to stop the spreading of the disease and the degeneration of her bone. She spent one night in the hospital and came home with pain meds, antibiotics and anti inflammatories. This surgery and all the medications cost $4,354.90. The veterinary specialist submitted all the paperwork to Healthy paws along

Unbeleivable!

I just received an email from this great company! What a surprise. They reviewed a claim that I had on my Goldendoodle and her ear infection without my asking and found out they owed me an additional 51.00. Considering I had been with another insurance company prior to switching to Embrace 3 years ago that was a nightmare, this company has the most outstanding service and caring that I cannot say enough. Of all services that we pay for every day, I believe this is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with.

Easy and worth it

My greyhound ran into a pole and tore open his knee. I had gotten insurance for the "just in case" of this very situation. I live in an area that's more expensive than "customary," so the original friend who recommended that I get pet insurance warned me that it would reimburse about half of vet charges in the area. The process to get reimbursed was easier than it is with my human healthcare FSA! I received my check about 2 weeks after I submitted the claim. The grand total at the vet was $480, and I ended up with a check for $240-- just what I expected, and still a financial relief.
