Superb Claims Processing... Amazing Service

I have used Healthy Paws for my German Shepherd since 2010. I only have good experiences to share. Bergen has had 2 major incidents - a broken leg and now sadly a perforated ear drum. Each time claims processing was more than fast - It was in fact incredibly fast, same day processing. This is the very best insurance service for your pet. I could only wish that people health insurance is as efficient was Healthy Paws.

Emergency Hip Surgery for Winston

Winston was trying to jump up on the bed and he completely dislocated his right hip requiring surgery on April 30, 2013. We submitted the claim May 10th and were reimbursed about the 30th of May for 90 PerCent of the bill total less office visit fee and deductible amount of the insurance. We are very satisfied with Trupanion Pet Insurance We took out the Insurance when we got Winston it is good to know that in an emergency that your are only going to pay the office visit fee and the deductible which you choose when you take out the insurance policy rather than a large surgery and medication bill.

Confidence

My dog had gastritis due to overeating and stealing food. I was kept current with the claim via email and I thought the reimbursement was fair. The claim was handled quickly and I also received a followup. I will continue to use this insurance company. When my dog was younger, I had used a different company and the reimbursement was lower with a higher deductible.

Great investment! So glad I got Trupanion!

My dog has unfortunately had a lot of medical issues, and having the insurance has allowed me to get him all the help he needs. Dogs give you unconditional love and deserve to get the best care you can provide in return. Read the policy through carefully so you understand what is covered or not - they will stick to the policy.

ASPCA's coverage is lousy

ASPCA says that it covers 90% of the usual and customary charges for verterinary care. It does not say how it determines what is usual and customary, and I have submitted two claims now, and in both cases ASPCA decided that "usual and customary" was about a third less than what I was actually charged by my vet. I will be switching to different pet insurance.

Healthy Paws = Customer Service

TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The folks that work the claims are not only lightening quick in processing your claim and getting a check out to you but they sure seem to care as well which goes along ways when dealing with an insurer. We had spent BIG dollars out of pocket on Bert our previous dane/lab mix going through a neural surgery and related therapy among other things and decided to give the insurance route a whirl on our rottweiler puppy Rufus even though I was highly skeptical of the concept and assumed there had to be some type of catch. Healthy Paws was put to the test almost immediately as Rufus broke his front right leg on the growth plate at the age of 5 months. The fracture required surgery to pin everything in place so that it would hopefully continue to grow properly and then surgery to remove the pins later down the road. After all was said and done it ended up being around $5k which HP paid on right away. Forward the dial ahead one year and the perfectly restored rowdy rott decided that Easter Sunday would be more fun if he swallowed a tennis ball. Another fun trip to the University of Minnesota Vet Med Center to remove the ball and deal with lingering pneumonia from the endoscopy rang up another $3.5k. HP again paid on the claims without an ounce of non-sense regarding the incidents and the follow up care that was needed to get things right for our boy. No catch involved. My only critique which was mentioned by another is that I do wish thei

Covered Hip Displaysia in my Golden

We've had Pets Best insurance for 3 years on our little Golden, Graham. Graham developed hip displaysia when he was about 2 and a half and I don't know what we would have done without Pets Best. Treatment was $980 per hip and both of Graham's hips were affected--our total bill was $2,300!! We filed the claim the day after the surgery and were PAID TWO DAYS LATER. The reimbursement was direct deposited directly into our account! Honestly, Pets Best couldn't be truer to name. They are HANDS DOWN the best.

They pay with the speed of light!!

Our big dog Monarch has a lick granuloma on his right lower leg joint and is now going thru his 2nd round of laser treatment. Trupanion immediately paid for his first round and had already paid for his second round before his treatment even began. I call that fast! We made the right choice when we chose Trupanion even tho we didn't know we would be using it this soon.
