Trupanion saved me $21,000 !!!
I will be forever grateful for having Trupanion insurance. My dog needed surgery on his neck. It was an extremely expensive surgery. I would have never been able to afford on my own.Long story short my poor little dog ended up getting two neck surgeries and spent three weeks in the hospital. Trupanion was absolutely amazing. There was multiple, multiple seemed like never ending applications for Trupanion coverage. Every single one, approved, approved. Never any hassle. They were there for my dog and myself in a very stressful and scary time. Trupanion saved my one year old dogs life and I can not express how greatful I am. Thank you Trupanion for coming through when we TRULY needed you. ❤

Claims so easy, even a caveman could do it.
I’ve had Nation Wide insurance for 6 years for my Labrador. I’ve never made a claim in the 6 years. She’s been healthy thank God. A few months ago she started itching and scratching. It got so bad that she was gnawing herself until she was bleeding. It took 2 weeks for a veterinarian appointment because it was during the peak of the COVID Pandemic. She was giving Apoquel and sent home. The Apoquel worked well but once it was gone after 30 days the scratching started right back again. I took her back to the veterinarian and was giving the same thing as before. Apoquel. After 30 days, it starts back up. I decided to get a new veterinarian. I didn’t like that they just gave her medicine but never tried to figure out what was causing her discomfort. The new veterinarian did multiple tests and even scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist. They gave her Apoquel again but this time they gave her a few other medications. She has been so much better now. The hair is starting to grow back on the spots that she gnawed at. I’m very happy with the new veterinarian and filing a claim with Nation Wide was so easy and fast.

Nationwide's Whole Pet with Wellness policy is the best policy ever in our 25+ years as a VPI/Nationwide pet insurance customer.
As a pet insurance customer for 25 years, Nationwide's Whole Pet with Wellness is the most robust policy we've found, and our vet says Nationwide pays more than other pet insurance companies.

Bummed out - It's like they look for any reason to deny my claim!
I purchased the PetsBest policy for my puppy due to the great reviews, but so far I've only had a hassle. My first claim was denied because they didn't even take time to look through the receipt and see that it wasn't just for wellness but also a urinalysis. Once I pointed this out and they reviewed it again, they denied because they said my puppy had symptoms before my policy was in place (14 days after purchasing the policy). This of course is ridiculous. My puppy didn't have symptoms for over a month! No where does it say on the receipt that my puppy had symptoms that long. So I can only conclude that they are making up these things hoping customers will just give up instead of fight for their claims. So frustrating and unnecessary.

Best Insurance for Dogs
I am so grateful to Nationwide Pet Insurance for helping me care for my dog Lala. Lala is truly my best furry friend. During the COVID-19 crisis, Lala has had a mysterious illness and required care including hospitalization, many vet visits and medications. Without Nationwide Pet Insurance, I would have had to worry about giving her care based on the prices, not just on what care she requires. Thanks to Nationwide Pet Insurance, I have peace of mind knowing that when Lala needs care, we can afford to get it. I appreciate the Vet 24/7 Help Line, they help me decide when its time to go to the vet or get another opinion. We hope Lala is beginning to recover, but if she needs more care, I am sure Nationwide will be there to support us.

Love the insurance option, but the claim process could use improvement
Most things have been covered and the beginning stages of the claim process is pretty easy (would love for the system to save past info like my vet). It is the processing part that could use some improvement. Communication is key and it seems like there is no communication after the claim is submitted. I would love an email that gave me the step by step update (ie. Claim received, claim processing, NIGO and need more info/approved with X as payment). Also, I hate how if I’m missing something or the supporting docs aren’t visible then it is just closed and I have to do a completely new claim. There should be a NIGO process where a reach out via phone or email happens to see if I can provide the info before closing. Really not an effortless experience in my eyes.
