After many years of our wonderful relationship with Trupanion we're seeing a new attitude--less supportive much less useful communication resistance or obfuscation in responding to questions about claim denials.
After many years of our wonderful relationship with Trupanion, we're seeing a new attitude--less supportive, much less useful communication, resistance or obfuscation in responding to questions about claim denials. Also, denials are more frequent and poorly justified. They don't want to allow clients to speak directly with those who make coverage decisions or to upper-level managers. They don't want to speak with vets about their work; they want the CLIENT to speak with the vet and then ask the vet to contact Trupanion, based on how the client interpreted Trupanion's questions. What happened to our easy-to-deal-with, supportive insurance company?!?!?!?

Do not purchase this insurance
I rarely right reviews, but I wanted to save other people from experiencing the frustration we did. My husband and I were paying into the best and most expensive option for our pet thinking this would provide good coverage. When he became ill we took him to the vet for 3 different issues. Petplus did not cover ANY of it! They took hundreds of dollars from us. They barely cover anything, this insurance is so not worth investing in.

This claim was processed quickly and I received the check reimbursement quickly. On another claim I never received the check. I made two phone calls inquiring about the situation. The first person I spoke to gave me inaccurate information on receiving the check. The second person I spoke to suggested that I request electronic deposit on claims and that has proven to be successful. I

Blue growing in a basement, so he is a little scared and I can’t figure out what going on but his always sick and need closer attention from veterinary. Nationwide helps a lot covering that.

Nationwide is on my side!!
I am so glad I decided to get Nationwode Ins on my dog a couple years ago. She has had some issues Some Requiring surgery and Nationwide has reimbursed me 90% of the associated costs. I HIGHLY recommend this insurance for your furry family member!

Great Insurance for our beloved pet
Nationwide insurance has been phenomenal in taking care of our beloved pet, Mia's needs. Claim submission and reimbursement are superb. My husband and i always tell our friends that Mia has better insurance than people insurance. We have referred Nationwide to several of our family and friends. Making a claim is easy.
This is the 2nd time I have needed to make a claim utilizing Nationwide Insurance for my pets. It is easy to submit the claim and the response is very quick if more information is needed. Receiving reimbursement was easy to set up by direct deposit and there is always a good explanation of reimbursement of the claim. This makes me glad I got insurance for my pets and impressed at the service Nationwide has provided.
