Overall, I was satisfied with the claims process. One major exception. Initially, I was not given the options of sending the itemized bills by FAX or mail. I took pictures of the bills and sent them by email as attachments only to be told that the copies were not legible. Had I been able to print those itemized bills and send them by FAX as I then did, my claim would have been processed in a more timely manner.

Well worthwhile to have this coverage
Nationwide pet insurance has been very worthwhile for Bailey, it covers major medical and shots/annual treatments. I highly recommend you get and keep your pet insured.

Great Improvement in Service
We've had Pet Insurance on our canine family member since she came to us more than 4 years ago. Nationwide's customer service has improved a lot since we began as customers. The claims process is much easier using the app and paying claims has gotten so much quicker. If payment was made within 30 days when we started, it was a surprise. Our last claim took about 10 days until payment was received. The one issue surrounds using a third party, Chase, to facilitate payments. Including that company adds a couple of days to the process.

Great Support
I am very grateful for Nationwide. They have been there for me as support for all my animals. I recently lost one of my dogs and they helped me up to his transition. I highly recommend this insurance. They will work with you. My other dog needed surgery and I didn't have the money up front and they paid the provider directly, otherwise my dog would have died. I truly appreciate Nationwide.

This is the BEST decision I've made (next to adopting my dog)
After a sudden illness happened to my previous dog and left me in a lot of sudden vet bills and high debt, I knew that the next time I am ready to get a dog that I would get pet insurance. I went for the best coverage (which included wellness checks) and it has been the BIGGEST HELP! My previous dog never had any health issues until she suddenly had a tumor on her heart, but this new pup-child of mine seems to ALWAYS be sick! He has allergies, very sensitive stomach, high separation anxiety (to the point his internal organs become inflamed), but I wouldn't change his big lovable self for the world! I can honestly say that I am just so grateful for this insurance because it has really saved me in the long run and I am just so grateful. I honestly have been recommending it to every pet owner I know and even though the best option seems a little high, I would recommend it because it really is the BEST option and it has definitely helped me out the most! If I had to say that there was one thing that I could gripe about, it would just be that nail trimmings at the vet aren't covered. I know it isn't a major expense, BUT it can cause serious health issues for their dog in the long run if not taken care of and having it as a part of coverage would be that push to help make sure people do it for some who may see it as an unnecessary expense. For me, it definitely would help because my dog needs his trimmed every other week and I alone can't do it but I only trust the vet. Other than that one gripe, there is literally NOTHING I could complain about! Seriously GET THIS PET INSURANCE!! Not only for your dog, but so you don't have to make a tough decision because of your financials! Plus your wallets will be happy!

All I can say is “wow”. I am so thankful that we invested in our pets health by purchasing Nationwide Pet Insurance. We ended up having an unexpected surgery this year, and it was great to know that the last thing we needed to worry about was paying for the surgery - we could focus on making sure our puppy healed happy and healthy! I highly, highly recommend investing in your pet’s health. Having pet insurance, especially through Nationwide, has been wonderful. The claims are incredibly easy to submit. Even when a claim has to be reviewed, the Nationwide team is “on top” of staying in touch to make sure you know where the process of the claim is.

GREAT SERVICE
We have a 5 mo Newfoundland pup. She went in for a wellness check, getting her rabies, etc. We filed a claim for her wellness visit. The submission was so smooth. We received an email the next business day to say they received it and were processing it. We could easily log onto our account and see the progress. Once the claim was complete, the explanation of benefits was so thorough, we never questioned anything because we had all the information we needed. The claim check was sent electronically. Seriously, the best investment is Pet Insurance and Nationwide knocks it out of the park! We hope we never have to use it for emergency purposes but knowing we have it is serious peace of mind!

Nationwide pet insurance has made my pet's illness a little easier to deal with
Nationwide pet insurance has made dealing with my pet's illness a little easier on me. My pet was recently diagnosed with two diseases that required hospitalization, and this happened at the same time that i lost my job. Because of Nationwide, I was able to get my dog treated without worrying about how I was going to pay for it. Not only did my policy cover 90% of the cost of treating my dog, but the claims were paid in less than 2 weeks, which meant I had the reimbursement in hand before the credit card I used to pay the Vet required payment. Even though my monthly premium is a little high (in my opinion), this one health scare made it well worth it.
