Well here we go again - Do they cover anything?
Well here we go again. I didn’t expect to have more issues with Trupanion, however let’s get it all out there for everyone considering Trupanion. This is my second claim with Trupanion, and this is my second claim that has been denied due to a “pre-existing condition”. For both claims I’ve had to appeal, and my vet has got involved with the situation and explained why they were not pre-existing. In the end my first claim was covered. When we got to the second claim, I figured we wouldn’t have any issues at all (this was something completely new for our dog). Naturally, Trupanion finds one note and decided to deny based on that. My vet has written a letter stating that the notes in the vet records are not related for the appeal and it still was denied (this happened the first time too). I then called in and asked what do I do from here when my vet is saying she doesn’t believe it is related? The manager I spoke with told me to have my vet call into the appeals department to give them more information and to reiterate that she doesn’t believe it is related. The appeals women told her that the appeal is closed and nothing she says will change the result. My vet had to call four times to get this response. Why would a manager tell me to have my vet call in, using her valuable time, if the appeals team won’t listen to the vet? If my vet doesn’t believe this is related to the current condition, how can it be pre-existing? Essentially, Trupanion is claiming to know my dog better than myself and my vet. I’m the type of dog mom that will take him in for anything that is concerning, my vet knows him well and knows that if there was an ongoing issue, they would be the first to know. Also beware that one of the representatives basically confirmed with me that I will likely have to appeal every claim. This is BEYOND time consuming, and stressful. Trupanion goes on about how they are there in your time of need, they aren’t, they just make it more stressful. Our vet has told us we really need to consider our policy with them and has actually advised that it may not be worth it if they just won’t cover anything. Normally they advise that clients have coverage, so that is telling you something.

The do what they say, "Embrace"
I have 2 Husky's. Both insured by Embrace. Their Vet sends the invoices direct to Embrace. The Company reviews the claim, sends my approved amount directly to my checking account. Very smooth. Embrace does a very nice job of informing you about your claim, and updating the information. I have been with Embrace a little over a year and one of my dogs has had some major issues. I never had pet insurance previously, but very happy I do now.

Trupanion follows what they advertise.
I have had Trupanion health insurance for my cats for many years. Trupanion makes it easy to file a claim and to get reimbursed. They show you very clearly what they will pay out, according to the policy, and make an automatic deposit into my bank account.

Prompt and reliable insurance company
I have been using Healthy Paws for over 8 years now. I have an 8 and a half year old Shihtzu Maltese, who unfortunately has had several surgeries on her legs. She also needed physical therapy and laser treatments after surgery to help with residual limping. Healthy Paws approved all of my claims quickly and without any questions. They followed up to ask how my dog is feeling and are always pleasant to speak with over the phone. I would definitely recommend this company and have recommended it to a number of close friends.

Exceptional customer service and prompt service on the claim.
I have been very pleased with the service and will continue to recommend Trupanion. One improvement would be to cover office visits or at least follow up office visits.

Very glad I have insurance with Healthy Paws for my Sara. Just had ACL Surgery, and they paid me very quickly
My Springer came down with Idiopathic immune disease when she was 3, and Healthy Paws was prompt on paying our bills. Sara just had ACL surgery 2 wks ago, and healthy paws promptly paid the invoices. It is very easy to file a claim. When I take Sara to the vet I make sure to ask the Receptionist to forward me the doctors report when it is done, and send the invoice and report on to Healthy Paws. They let me know they received it and it is being worked on. I am very happy with their services.

I got Healthy Paws when Sara was a few months old, someone had this insurance and was happy with it. I am very glad I did sign up. Sara has had idiopathic immune disease which was very expensive and just had ACL surgery, which isn't cheap. Healthy Paws makes it easy to file claims, lets you know the information has been received and it is being worked on, then lets you know it has been approved, or not and pays promptly. Very satisfied with the customer service also.
