Efficient and compassionate Insurance company
We had an unfortunate accident with our Lab. He ingested a rag and it got stuck in his intestine. This required hospitalization, surgery and intensive care. In spite of excellent care, he died. We incurred significant vet expenses which Pets Best promptly and efficiently covered. It was an easy upload of expenses and direct deposit to our bank. Thanks for your help in this difficult of times.

The Trupanion staff & processing of claims is fast, professional, thorough and we couldn't be more pleased with the service and results of this company and the insurance plan we have for Gabi. I have recommended Trupanion to a number of people in the past who have asked if we have pet insurance...I have no idea if any of our friends have taken our advice but our experience with Trupanion has always had an outcome that can be described as fair, professional and as a customer, we are grateful. GDV - A true emergency
Trupanion answered the phone when I called them from the emergency hospital. They were in contact with the emergency hospital very soon. It took 25 minutes before the hospital got the OK from Trupanion that they would cover the claim. I don’t know what the hospital would’ve done in that one hour if my dog had needed intervention other than giving him fluids and comforting medications. I guess they would’ve told me I would have to pay everything upfront until they heard from Trupanion. After the incident was approved by Trupanion, everything went smoothly. My dog got the life-saving surgery he needed and Trupanion paid their part directly to the hospital. I paid my part directly to the hospital upfront. It was a smooth deal other than one email that said the claim was not approved but that turned out to be in case they needed to take out his spleen which Trupanion thought would be a separate event not related to the GDV. The GDV was caught early enough that the spleen did not need to be removed, but had it needed to be removed it would have been covered. Thank goodness.

Lightening speed and very fair claim processing.
My 1.5 year old dog just ended up with an overnight stay at a hospital for something he swallowed. Healthy Paws not only accurately and quickly (less than 24 hours) processed my claim, but refunded me the money in about 2 days. They are better than my regular health insurance. They even followed up to see how my dog was doing.

Price hiked twice in less then two years?
I have had them since my dogs were puppies. Now they are 3 years and 4 years. The premium has gone up twice in less then two years. Now, i am paying almost double what i originally signed up with. Unsure if it's because my dogs are aging? They wouldn't explain the premium increase. Just sent generic message and link to cancel if i dont like it. Shame.

Thanks to Healthy Paws for taking the worry out of my life saving cost of my pet's surgery and recovery. With all that is going on now and a pandemic and the fact my business was shut down for over five months, I would not have been able to pay the cost of over $4,500 for his life saving treatment without the 90% reimbursement for his medical cost. The app simply let me take a picture of the invoices and within days reimbursement into my account, made the normal worrisome experience less worrisome and attention to his surgery and recovery a lot less stressful. Thanks Healthy Paws for over six years of covering Lucky, you are the best!!!

Hi everyone, My name is Lynn Patrick and I just wanted to write on here to let everyone know that TRUPANION has saved our dogs lives MANY many times. If it wasn’t for them caring about animals like they do, our Lilie & Noah would’nt be here with us. They both have had to have life saving surgeries which was very expensive and TRUPANION was right by our side through everything. They covered 90% of all their bills. They are true ANGELS in my mind.
