Great for peace of mind, but that’s it
I’m glad my dog has insurance in case anything big happens, but I seem to be paying a lot of money for very few things to actually be covered. She’s on a prescription diet, and half the cost of the first few bags of food were covered, but other than that I don’t actually know of any of my claims have covered anything.

My mantra is, always: buy pet insurance, because you don’t ever want to make health decisions based on your bank account. I have made several referrals to Trupanion. My Piper was a ~4 year old rescue, an unknown quantity, health wise, so the premiums were quite high. But when it came to her chronic, progressive condition, Trupanion came through, covering all related expenses down to that final, sad day she was euthanized. I will always recommend Trupanion, because our much loved pets deserve the best care possible. So thank you. You made it easier to do our best for this wonderful dog.
