Fantastic Company!

Our 6 1/2-year-old Lab, Jack, has been experiencing some continuing digestive issues since April. He was seen by our regular vet, and then referred to an internal medicine specialist. Jack has been extensively tested and the tests were expensive, but, like many pet parents, we would do anything to make sure our pets have the best care. We are extremely thankful that we have Healthy Paws pet insurance to assist with these expenses! Our multiple claims have been very promptly processed and reimbursement checks delivered quickly. We have received regular email communications all along the way to keep us informed of the process. We were also very pleasantly surprised to receive an email inquiring about Jack and sending best wishes for his recovery. We are so glad to have them as a partner in our pets' healthcare!

DO NOT SIGN UP

DO NOT SIGN UP! We signed up in case our dog needed another TPLO. VPI was the only pet insurance that claimed to cover TPLOs for dogs that have already had a TPLO. As long as the knee in question wasn't damaged prior to the 12 month probationary period, they claimed they would cover approximately $2,500 of the surgery and rehab costs. I've spoken to at least 4 different agents between the time I signed up up until my dog's TPLO last month. Each and every time they confidently assured me they'd cover it and that all I needed to do was make sure the surgery was after the 12 month probationary period. They were so reassuring I didn't think I needed proof of their verbal agreement to reimburse me for the TPLO costs. Well, I'm an idiot and out $5,000 (price of surgery and VPI monthly fee for the past year). My dog just had the surgery and they aren't covering any of it. DO NOT SIGN UP!

Good at first-now getting slow and expensive

I have had dogs insured with Pets Best for around 10 yr now.At first their prices were reasonable and they would complete a claim withing 5-6 days. Now it's taking 3 weeks and a phone call to get the last paid claim and their rates in the last two years have gone up by 50%. This latest round of rate increases is unreasonable. I'm looking around to move now. I'm going to mark that I would recommend them only because they do pay up.

Great Company to Deal With

Our dog had become restless and was acting as if she was in pain. We took her to the nearest veterinary emergency hospital and x-rays showed she may have had some compressed disks in her back. We were sent home with medication but after 24 hours in which she would neither eat or drink or take her meds, we went back for further review. A blood test still did not show anything else. A day later, she started to feel better and we could see improvement. The whole experience cost us around $800, but thanks to our pet insurance we only have to pay about half of that. The best part is, the checks were sent within 2 days of the visit to the veterinary hospital.

First claims reviewer inexperienced or incompetent

My experience with Pets Best Insurance has been outstanding. But whoever reviewed my most recent claim was either inexperienced or incompetent. The initial reviewer rejected my claim for a ridiculous and incorrect reason. I called to inquiry and the rep on the phone said it was a mistake and she would get it rectified, which she did. I expect to get lousy service when I call the electric company, phone company, or cable company. Fortunately I have grown to expect superb service from Pets Best. The reviewer who initially rejected my modest claim is either inexperienced or incompetent. Fortunately I believe this person is the exception to Pets Best staff. I am taking the time to submit this survey even though the claim was for only $57.98. I value good service. Up until now all my ratings were 10s. This one I rated 4 because the reviewer wasted my time and yours too.

great decision

Since we got 2 puppies that were litter mates decided to get insurance in case a problem developed in the future. I did not expect our 2 year old male to develop a gastritis that resulted in an ER visit, a transfer to a specialist, and 5 days of hospitalization. Very glad we had insurance to help with the expenses. Vet Clinics filled out claim form and submitted. Easier than human insurance.

Amazing

I have had several pet insurances over the years with my different animals, but Embrace is by far the best at what they do. The claims are reviewed in a timely manner and refunded quickly. The reps are extremely friendly and there is never a question too small or dumb :) it is such a relief to have them in my pets lives making sure they are well taken care of!!

the best pet insurance out there

after doing tons of research on practically every pet insurance out there, i find that aspca pet insurance is the most comprehensive pet insurance out there. i found that most pet insurance companies offer only accidents and have a lot of exclusions as far as treatment for certain medical conditions. there is no wellness coverage at all. i found that aspca covers every thing including wellness and their fees per pet are very reasonable. you even get a discount for the number of pets you cover .

Healthy paws saved my dog's life!

My sweet dog Waffles was diagnosed with kidney failure likely due to an infection and was in emergency care for almost a week. The treatment was very expensive, in total almost $6000. Thankfully Healthy Paws covered exactly what they said they would without any hassle at all. Without Healthy Paws we might not have been able to afford to save our girl. Thanks!
