Great service!

We've been with Trupanion for about half a year now and the service has been excellent! We've already had to fill out three claims since getting Trupanion (puppies, got to love them!) and they always respond quickly and we've gotten our reimbursement checks within weeks of filing. I would recommend Trupanion to everyone!

Literally, a lifesaver!

We cannot praise Trupanion and its staff highly enough. Although we deliberately chose dogs whose breed is known to have few genetic problems, our daughter (who is an emergency veterinarian in a different city) encouraged us to purchase medical insurance for them. We are so glad we did, AND that we chose Trupanion! We have made claims for both dogs during the past 3+ years; every claim was processed within just a few days, with confirmation by e-mail, and a cheque received within two weeks at the very most. One of our dogs has had significant health problems over the past 10 months, beginning with a critical illness requiring emergency treatment and hospitalization. The knowledge that Trupanion would reimburse 90% of our veterinary expenses enabled us to make rapid decisions about diagnostics and treatment - I have no doubt this contributed to a positive outcome. Having insurance also enabled us to pursue further diagnostic testing, identify an underlying problem, and provide ongoing medication essential to restore and maintain his quality of life. We are thrilled to have our devoted companion healthy again, and our other dog is happy her buddy is back to his normal self. We didn't insure our dogs until they were age 8 and 5, but even with the exclusion of pre-existing conditions, the benefits of Trupanion have been amazing. I wouldn't consider bringing another pet into my home without immediately insuring it through Trupanion.

Great service

We've had Trupanion health insurance for our dog for 2-3 years. He had been very healthy, but developed cancer. He subsequently had 2 successful surgeries. Trupanion paid most of the cost of his treatment. They reviewed the case promptly, and paid the insured amount within a couple of weeks. Excellent coverage for the cost of the policy and super service. A nice feature of Trupanion is the ability to adjust the deductible and rate to suit your finances and the needs of your pet(s). Great reimbursement for my dog's torn ACL. It doesn't get any better than 90% reimbursement!! Professional,fast,caring service. They have years of experience in this field and it shows! THANK YOU TRUPANION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trupanion gives me relief and comfort

I had did research on pet insurance and found trupanion was the best and its on consumer reports as well. I was weary at first but when Jack hurt his leg we had to take him to dr. browns jacks vet. She did xrays and found (thank god) he just injured his leg and not his hip. She put him on medication. We sent our claim to trupanion and they paid over 2,000 dollars of it minus his deductible and they paid for all his meds till this day. Thats when I knew that trupanion was there for us. When I really realized that trupanion was there for us was on September 2nd, 2011. Jack went to dr. browns to get his nails cut. We had told her he was acting a little strange so she checked him out and within a few hours he was going down hill all of sudden he barely could walk. I was so scared thats when she told us to get him to deerfield hospital asap and she called ahead. I knew that driving to the hospital I didnt have to worry about the money. Just getting jack there and taking care of him. We got there they got us in right away and found out the bad news Jack had cancer was diagnosised with Lymphosarcoma. He had to stay in the hospital for 48 hours. I cryed all weekend not knowing what was going on. But I knew through the tears Trupanion was there so my tears were for my jackyboo and not financial. We sent in the claim for the hospital and within a week they paid over 2,000 dollars I mean come on when a pet insurance company doesnt make you wait and

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
