Excellent response to claim for vet costs.
Trupanion's response to our claim for veterinary care for our dog's bite injury was excellent and impressive. They responded immediately, kept us informed as to the claim's progress and actually seemed sincerely interested in the well-being of our dog.

GREAT INSURANCE- EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THEM
WE HAVE TWO DOGS AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLAIMS SINCE WE JOINED AS THEY BOTH HAVE SERIOUS LEG AND HIP PROBLEMS. TRUPANION HAS REALLY HELPED US BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO HELP OUR DOGS WITH THEIR CORRECTIVE OPERATIONS. I HAVE REFERRED SEVERAL PEOPLE TO TRUPANION.

Truly The Best Insurance You Can Have
Trupanion has been amazing. I found Trupanion to be exceptional in their customer service and processing of claims. My puppy has been in/out of the hospital recently and Trupanion has made this unfortunate period of our lives so much easier. They have really supported me and my puppy the whole way through. Every associate has been amazinly understanding and compassionate. They truly care about your pets' well being. All claims have been processed really fast and without error. Trupanion has been wondering and I would like to thank their entire staff for making things less complicated and easier to handle. Hands down, Trupanion pet insurance is better than any other out their and even better than the health insurace we are provided as humans. Without Trupanion, I would not have been able to provide all the medical care to my puppy she has required in the past couple of months. THANK YOU TRUPANION FOR BEING SO WONDERFUL AND CARING, JOB WELL DONE!!

Having dealt with several insurance companies, it was surprising to work with your people in solving the occaisional problems encountered. Clear, definitive answers (sometimes not in the client's favour) are still welcome & helpful.Funny thing about clarity & honesty...it builds a trusted relationship.
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions. Whichever insurer you choose, it pays to enroll early!
