Trupanion is a true companion to me and my pets!

Trupanion is the best. You have the opportunity to choose which type of coverage is best for you and your pet. Their response is always quick and thorough. If you have a problem filing a claim they contact your vet direct. I have two Golden Retrievers, and having Trupanion gives me piece of mind. Would highly, highly, highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks for having my back Trupanion!

Excellent claim service- friendly caring professio

I was very concerned that Sasha may not be covered since she had a pre-existing condition called Reactive Colitis.Sasha was vomiting so much she needed to be taken to the Care Hospital and then needed 3 days of IV fluids to help her recover. She tested postive for Giardia and all other tests came back negative. Within several days of putting forward a claim for almost $1600 I received an approval that Trupanion will cover $1445 of these recent medical costs. trupanion responded very fast to this claim and when I called to inquire about the "chance of this being covered" I was reassured in a very professional and friendly manner. I would recommend Trupanion to anyone!!

Trupanion is the Best in the Business!!

I have worked at animal hospitals since 1999. I have seen pet insurance change and grow. I have not come across a more progressive company than Trupanion. They are easy to work with and to get a hold of. The rep is great!!They are the only company that provide "claims express" and will pay the animal hospital directly. I signed up for the 30 day free trial on my own golden retriever puppy. 2 weeks into the trial she got incredibly ill. It took a lot of phone calls to specialists and many tests to figure out what was wrong. Decisions were made easy knowing that all the tests were covered. Had it not been for working at an animal hospital, and having the insurance my puppy would have had to been put to sleep. I love being able to give our clients the same finacial freedom and recommend "trupanion" to many of them. I sleep easy at night knowing that I will not have to make decisions based on money. It is our pateints best interest and is healthy for our practice to have as many pets as we can on pet insurance. We are able to practice our best medicine and pets get what they need. My puppy is living proof.

Very satisfied with overall service

The insurance coverage is very easy to understand. It is clear and there is no ambiguous language. I have had insurance with 2 other companies in the past 10 years and there was always some hidden facts about the coverage in the fine print and ambiguous language which required interpretation. So far, Trupanion practice what they preach and I find it refreshing. Their customer service people are very helpful and go out of their way to help during trying times. I am very satisfied and I have been telling everyone I know about how satisfied i am with Trupanion. I have had to submit multiple claims because my pet had recurrences of pancreatitis, and the claims were handled in a very professional manner. There is always a confirmation of when the claim is received and within several days I received a confimation of the approved amount. The settlement is mailed, so I received it within a week. So the entire process takes about 10 days. The only imrovement would be if Trupanion could credit the settlement directly to the account of the insured party. I hope they continue their good work, they are light years ahead of the pack.

Watch out for Low "Come On" Premium

I never had pet insurance before and bought a policy for my current Newfie when she was six months old. Now, one year later, I have been advised that my premium will be increased by 62% per month. Obviously, I think this is outrageous. Be careful about the low 'come on' premiums. Apparently, they are just that.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
