10/10 Exellent Service and Speedy Reimbursement
I chose Trupanion over several different providers for pet insurance due to several reasons. First being I got to choose the coverage I wanted for my pet. The policy has no cap on coverage limit and you can add coverage to the policy for different diseases that effect specific breeds i.e. hip displysia for large breed dogs. Me being the over analyser of everything I even made a spreadsheet comparing the different plans offered from other providers and all in all Trupanion came out ahead as being the most affordable choice for what I needed for my pet. We took our dog to the vet on Tuesday and biopsy done on Wednesay, filled out my portion of the claim form and gave it to the vets office to complete their portion on Friday. Got repsonses in my email stating that each claim was being processed that following Monday and by Friday got email approving the claims and how much reimbursement we will be receiving. Check arrived on Monday. It took Trupanion less than 10 days to process the claims and get our reimbursement in the mail. NOW THATS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. We paid out $1700 in two days for our dog and was reimbursed almost $1100. I am so impressive with the customer service Trupanion provided I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that cares for their pets!

Rate was increased after claim
My dog was bit by another dog in his ear and the ear is hard to heal. So after the initial emergency room visit there were several other visits for the continuing problem of this ear. Trupanion did pay, but I had to go back to them over the deductible, as they tried to charge me the $100.00 twice. They did send it back after my Doctor sent them a letter explaining that it was the same problem. So all in all they were good, but right after they paid me I was notified that my monthly policy cost was increasing. I am saying I will not recommend this company due to the rate increase and the initgial visit at the emergency room they paid no part of. They do no pay for Doctor's examination.

Fantastic
I love this company...they have paid all of my claims for my dog without any questions and the best part is that it was all done in less than a week. I am so glad I have this insurance for my dogs. What a great feeling it is to know that if my dogs become ill I have trupanion to help me...Thanks Trupanion

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
