First claim made . . . took a bit long but in the future it will be smoother (as they now have her bulky file). Was a bit skeptical in pet insurance companies . . . but this has given me the confidence for future incidents:)

Thank the Lord for Trupanion!
I am a veterinary technician and am the proud owner of two young kitties. I have owned pets all of my life and have been in this field for about 12 years. I have never been inclined to purchase pet insurance in the past because it has so many loopholes such as "per incident limits" and exclusions, such as cancer, or recurring illnesses, that I didn't think it was really worth it, especially sice I work in this field. When the rep came to talk to our hospital about Trupanion it was hands down the best Pet Insurance that I had ever seen. I started to think about the times when my animals got sick on the weekends, overnights, and holidays when I couldn't take them into my hospital, or when I would need a specialist, so I decided to give Trupanion a shot.....boy am I glad I did! My youngest cat ingested a foreign body (my son's foam building blocks) one week later, and there I was, in the emergency hopsital on a Sunday night at 10:00 pm. Long story short, she was hospitalized for 3 days and ended up having surgery to have the object removed. Trupanion covered 90%! That was 6 months ago, and my very unfortunate, (and not so bright)little kitty just had her second exploratory surgery for eating something else she shouldn't have, and Trupanion covered it all. The x-rays, ultrasound, surgery, hospital stay, all of it. I enrolled with Trupanion in the summer of 2010 and have paid ~ $250 dollars total, for both cats policy's. what a blessing
I never considered pet insurance before but after bringing a dog with papers from out of state to Alaska, thought I would try it for the first year. Turns out we really needed when faced with $7500 worth of hip dysplasia surgeries. I didn't believe I actually got reimbursed before my credit cards were due! I have thanked my two vets for helping.

A must have for any pet owner!
We have had our Minature Bull Terrier for just under 10 months now, and unfortunatley he has had a few issues. His most recent involed stomach surgery to remove foreign objects, bully breeds tend to explore with their mouths.... After a few trips to our vet, and several overnight stays in emergency he's doing fine and back to his clownish self. Trupanion has been absolutely unbelievable. We purchased Trupanion based on the recomondation of our Vet, who said she had always had great interaction with Trupanion, and had several other clients who were very pleased with Trupanions coverage.
Of course we did not expect to have so many issues with our new baby bully, but even with several claims within a few months, totaling over $3000 dollars, Trupanion has always come through with the coverage that our policy said it would cover. I am constantly telling friends who have pets that they should really check out Trupanion, especially those that get puppies and kittens, because it really is a relief knowing that you can give your pets the medical attention they need, without worrying about covering the sometimes large veterinary bills.

Excelent Insurance
I have never had pet insurance but when I noticed how much my puppy (golden retreiver) liked to get into stuff I got it. My dog 1 year old got an ear infection. I took her to the vet 173.00 later. I filed a claim with Trupanion. Faxed it with the bill and her medical records. Within just a day or so I got an email that my claim was complete I will receive 90% of the cost back excluding 35.00 for the office visit. Very fast they did not give me one bit of grief. thank you trupanion.. And Koda is feeling much better!
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
