Quick and informative

Our six month old puppy had emergency surgery, a complete unexpected cost that was not an insignificant amount. Trupanion continually gave email updates on where they were in the claim process while doing their best to be timely. Our claim was processed within five days and a check received for 90% of the covered costs about a week after approval. They gave an amount right in line with what we had expected to received for reimbursement of out of pocket costs. Whenever I have called in to ask questions about my coverage, they are always nice, upbeat and answer to the best of their ability. I also really like that I can work with a company that is local to me. I have shared my experience with family and friends, and a lot of them have indicated that they have learned from my experiences and will get insurance for their next pet as soon as they get them.

Highly Recommend Trupanion Insurance

In owning over 6 Shih Tzu's, these dogs are very prone to getting eye diseases and eye disorders, and having spent out thousands of dollars before getting insurance for my 8 year shih tzu, I know the costs. My 8 year hasn't ever been sick before and always healthy, and I decided to get insurance on him, and just a few months later, he developed eye issues, which I am so glad that I have pet insurance now. Trupanion has been a blessing and is fast with claims and I opted for the no deductiable, which most ins. companies do not even offer, but Trupanion does. I would highly recommend this insurance to anyone looking for insurance for their pets.

User friendly claim process; Prompt processing

In my male Jack Russell's nine months, I have submitted two claims for vet services, one of which was for nearly $1,500. Trupanion's claim form and process is very simple and easy to complete. I received a check from Trupanion about a week after submitting the claim. The claims processors kept me informed via email as each step of the processing was completed. OUTSTANDING customer service!

Trupanion-outstanding

So far, so good. My 13 year old cat is having some serious bowel issues, and thus far, the bills have totaled close to 3,000 for very expensive tests (rare and sophisticared blood tests/colonoscopy/endoscopy) etc. Trupanion has covered everything they said they would. Because I insure 5 cats with them, I opted for a 250 deductible per incident per cat to keep the premiums lower. As their policy states, after the 250 deductible in my case, 90% of everything has been covered. What a relief, I don't know what I would do without this insurance. The cat is still having issues, and I don't know what else will come out of it, but I have peace of mind knowing I can get her the help she needs without fretting over the money part of it.

Trupanion provides courteous and efficient serivce

My four year old English Springer Spaniel developed a limp about one year ago. After several appointments with her regular veterinarian, I took her to a specialist. The specialish recommended arthroscopic surgery on her right front elbow-cost about $2,500. Trupanion covered alost all of the costs associated with the surgery and follow-up care. Trupanion has allowed me to seek the best possible care for my campanion, Penny Jo.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
