Extremely Reliable

Trupanion is an extremely reliable and pleasant pet insurance company. I started a policy for my dog on a "just in case" basis. I was thinking of insurance for a broken bone or something accidental. It turned out that my dog developed a lifelong pancreatic condition that needed a medication for the rest of his life. I was worried that the insurance might not cover that but was grateful to find out that Trupanion would cover the medication for the rest of his life. I have great appreciation for Trupanion. I'm not sure if I would have been able to afford the medication on my own.

Thank you, Trupanion!

Being a Purdue veterinary student and working as a receptionist at Paw Prints Animal Hospital has allowed me to see just how expensive pet emergencies/illnesses can be and how quickly they can occur. When I brought home my Dalmatian puppy (Ledger) almost two years ago, one of the first things I did was sign him up for Trupanion pet insurance. Thankfully, I made the right decision! Dalmatians produce high levels of uric acid and can be prone to bladder stones, so I knew turning to Trupanion was the right thing to do! He was indeed diagnosed with bladder stones this July and will now need an ultrasound of his bladder every 3 months to watch for future stone formation. If it weren't for Trupanion, I would have paid over $650 just to have the stones diagnosed and removed, and the future charges would have been waiting to add to the total cost. Thanks to Trupanion's fast claims service, 90% coverage, and rapid turnaround, I've already been reimbursed about $500 dollars! Ledger also has to eat a special diet (Hill’s U/D) to help prevent future stone formation, and Trupanion even covers approximately half of the food cost! I was able to set my own deductible, and the claims process is easy and fast! I highly recommend Trupanion to ANY pet owner. It not only has amazing benefits for puppies and kittens, but also older dogs and cats too! As a future veterinarian, I will recommend Trupanion to all of my clients! Mast Cell Cancer

My 5 year-old lab mix dog was diagnosed with mast cell cancer. She required two surgeries to remove and exam the cancer lesions. She has recovered and is doing well now thanks to the rapid and quality pet care. I am 100% satisfied with Trupanion and the quality customer service I received from them. They answered my initial questions on the telephone and promptly processed my claims within days. I would highly recommend this service to other pet owners.

Trupanion Reimbursement

Trupanion was very helpful when my 1yr old black lab developed a skin condition and possible heart condition. They were friendly and quick to reimburse the full amount based on my policy.

The Best!

My baby had her second hip replacement recently and Trupanion of course covered everything again. I never had to worry and I had the check for almost $5000 in around a week. I was able to woory about my dog's recovery and not whether or not her insurance would pay. Have been reimbursed over $11,000 for many ailments over the past year and a half. So worth it!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
