Great experience with Trupanion!

When my dog tore his ACL by running in the back yard I was hesitant to call Trupanion in fear of dealing with cold insurance agents that would try anything to not pay the claim. I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG! The lady I first spoke with was extremely nice, and sounded genuinely caring about my dogs injury. I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of customer service I received from the first moment. Trupanion helped me through the process and quickly took care of the claim. My dog has had three surgeries in two months and Trupanion and the people that work there have been nothing but helpful. I am so happy I chose this insurance company. I have nothing but positive comments so far!

I tell everyone - "Get Trupanion!"

Trupanion has been both professional and empathetic when it comes to the handling of my claims. Their policies are clear and their staff is polite and responsive. Now, what more could you ask for from a health insurance company. I only wish my health insurance plan was as caring and dependable as Trupanion!

Stay away

I would avoid this company like the plague. You are better off saving your premium for actial vet cinic visits and saving yourself the trouble of dealing with this company. Their business model seems to be based o deny the claim for any reason and hope the client doesn't pursue the claim. Here is a copy from their Facebook page: ME: Raised rates and are trying everything possible to deny a claim. If you're shopping for insurance try somewhere else. Trupanion's reply: Trupanion Pet Insurance Paul, I apologize for the delay in response. I encourage you to call your claims adjuster in case there is any uncertainty about the status of your claim. It appears that your claim was denied because your dog showed signs of the condition ...prior to insurance coverage, making the condition pre-existing. However, we would be glad to re-review a claim; you'd just need to get your vet to write us a letter clarifying how the claimed condition is unrelated to the prior symptoms. -Stacy My Reply: Hello Stacy, I appreciate your time in looking into my complaint. Perhaps you should have reviewed the documents more thoroughly before replying in a public forum. Trupanion has all of my pet's records and none of them document a preexi...sting condition. I have also already provided supporting documents from a specialist. The only thing Trupanion has is a recorded (for training) conversation with my spouse where she mentioned she thought her that some eye problem was no

Fast and friendly settlement of insurance claims

My dog accidentally broke its leg. Trupanion was able to settle our insurance claim quickly. We were contacted by phone and email. We would do anything to keep our pets healthy and happy. Trupanion in my opinion has the healthy and happy philosophy for both clients and their precious pets. The only thing I could suggest is direct billing for pet emergency hospitals.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
