Best inurance plan and investment EVER!!!

I have had Trupanion pet insurance on our dog Suki since she was a puppy. We have never used the insurance until she was 6 years old and found out she had cancer in December 2012. The radiation treatment was a little over $8000 and Trupanion had covered the 90% to the Vet Specialist directly (Express Claim). This was such a relief as it was during Christmas and money was tight. Even before the cancer claim, we had another claim for Suki in September 2012 for about $1000 and Trupanion covered 90% of this claim as well. Trupanion does EXACTLY what they say and keep you informed via email and send you a cheque within 2 weeks of making your claim. I highly recommend Trupanion insurance to everyone that loves their pet. It is sad to say that I believe our dog Suki has a better medical insurance plan than what my husband or I have. People used to laugh at us for having pet insurance for our dog, but now they realize that I have saved so much money and have given our dog Suki the BEST care possible!!

Fast, simple and reliable

I would recommend Trupanion wholeheartedly to any pet owner, further I would advise any pet owner to get pet insurance in general. It sounds cheesy but it really provides peace of mind. When our cat had to be referred to a specialist clinic, thankfully in town, it was a no-brainer. Don't get me wrong, I would have sent him to the clinic, pet insurance or not, but this way I didn't end up in debt. When he was released home four days later being diagnosed with a very rare immune-mediated condition, we started submitting our first claims (and there were many and there are more to come). And since then I have been continually surprised by the speed the claims have been processed with. Further there haven't been any questions about the eligibility of the claims and everything was covered (of course not the vet checks and taxes but that's what you sign up for). I am so incredibly happy that we were able to - and continue to - provide the best care for our cat and don't have to think twice about it. My cat will have to be monitored for this condition for the rest of his life and will most likely be on medication for the rest of his life. So I am thankful that we signed up with Trupanion as soon as we got him and hopefully, they will continue to be there for us along the way. Obviously, as a pet owner, you don't think that you will ever need pet insurance, but chances are you will, so sign up now.

Very quick attention to claim.

Riley my 7yr. old labradoodle swallowed stick fragments & some insoluable sustance on a Sat. & became sick after my vet had closed. I took him to an unfamiliar clinic that was very responsive & caring. He was vomiting continuously which soon turned to blood. He required immediate IV/medicated treatment. They submitted the claim the next day & immediately I received an email stating the claim was being reviewed which was quickly followed by another saying the claim was being taken care of & a payment would be forthcoming. Trupanion is an excellent company & I have recommended it to many dog owners. Thank you for the excellence you provide to us in times of unforeseen animal crisis. Vicki Lambert

Trupanion is awesome!

I love Tupanion! They are quick to respond and cover so much! My Lilly has so many conditions and they even cover 50% of her perscription food. They respond quickly to phone calls and emails and their website is easy to use.

satisfactory outcome

Our Boxer Mia was in deep trouble. She couldn't hold anything down and had diahhria bad. We got her in to the vet pront when we realized her condition could not get much worse. They operated hours after diagnosing a blocked intestine. The following monday I filled out the appropriate forms and passed them on to our vet clinic. The attending Vet processed the forms immediately and faxed them to Trupanion. We recieved a confirmation of submittal the same day and a follow-up three says later. Within 10 days we recieved a cheque in the mail and the file was closed. The timely resolution to our claim was appreciated, especially during the Christmas holiday season. I have no regrets going with Trupanion as they have delivered what the policy covered.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
