Fast and Caring

This is the first time that I had insured my dog (a toy pom). As a pet owner, you always hope that you would never have to use it. This is my first time that I had to make a claim because my dog (a little over 2 years old) needed knee surgery. This was very traumatic and stressful for me since it would be the first time that my dog would be away from home and needed to be boarded. However, I must say, Trupanion really made things easy, stress and hassle free. My vet processed the paperwork for me and within 24 hrs, I already had an e-mail stating that it was being processed. Within 2 days, the expenses were processed and within a week, I already had my check. Trupanion followed up with an email asking how my dog was doing, which honestly, meant a lot to me. I do not know other insurances, but I would recommend Trupanion. Not only does my monthly cost went down since I enrolled, they are very much hassle free and most importantly, caring! THANK YOU SO MUCH Trupanion!

Great customer service

We have the pleasure of a 12 yro female Labrador who unfortunately now has Diabetes :-(Accessing the Trupanion forms are easy via the net. Email-customer service is excellent, thank you Heather Pike!!! It is nice to actually receive $s for claims submitted instead of lip service and never seeing the actual funds. It is good to read in the emails that Trupanion cares about our sick companion(s) - thank you! Replies to forms or questions is quick. Keep up the great work!

Golden Retriever Hip Displasia

When we got our golden retriever puppy Captain in July I didn't want to have the shocking vet bills that we have had from time to time with our cat so I got Trupanion pet insurance with a hip dysplasia rider. When Captain started limping, he had two office visits, x-rays, and finally an office visit with a surgeon. Trupanion not only paid 90% of most of the cost of those three visits and the x-rays, but they also pre-approved payment for 90% of his surgery which will total about $6,000. The turn around time from submitting my claims to receiving the checks was very fast - around 10 days I think. I am very thankful to be able to provide first class medical care to Captain without an extreme shock to my budget or, worse, having to watch him live in pain for the rest of his life since he's only 9 months old.

Canine TPLO

Trupanion readily reimbursed for my dog's TPLO corrective surgery. There were no significant hassles with processing the claim.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
