Better insurance than any I've ever had for myself

We sadly acquired a puppy that developed a severe deformity. To get a diagnosis it took multiple x-rays, ultrasounds and MRIs. Needless to say this was several thousand dollars of tests, and now ongoing treatment and rehab. Trupanion paid just as the contract we signed said they would. Everything has been reimbursed at 90 percent and in a timely manner. I wish my personal insurance paid this well ! I would highly recommend Trupanion to all pet owners. Best to buy when your puppy or kitten is young, then there is no question about a pre existing condition...really a fantastic company!

Beware!!

I have had Trupanion for over a year, and last month my cat was diagnosed with cancer. Trupanion has denied all my claims! My vet even wrote a letter of appeal to Trupanion stating that my cat has no previous history of cancer, and they still denied the claim. In fact a Trupanion representative even told me on the phone (and this is verbatim what she said), "I'm sorry but we can't help everyone." My suggestion is to do more research about this company, and you will find more reviews of people who have had the same problem. I feel like the whole thing was a scam. I never missed any payments (the payments came directly out of my bank account to them), but when I needed coverage for an illness that had no previous history, and no reason to be denied... they said no. Beware

Thank you Trupanion!

I got Trupanion Pet Insurance for my two cats as a Christmas gift from my partner. We went away for Christmas and two days after we got back my young cat, Muffin, refused to eat. We took her to the vet for a check up and for the next three days we returned as none of the suggestions to get Muffin to eat were working. Finally, we had to get x-rays, medications, and finally surgery. At this point we were fresh out of ready cash to pay for procedures and had to call our brand new insurance company for pre-approvals. Trupanion was really easy to deal with, their case worker, Maria, was supportive and compassionate and Trupanion came through on all counts. I am so impressed and thankful for everything Trupanion has done for my little Muffin and for her worried parents. We are still working with the vet to find out what is wrong with our cat but I feel so much more confident knowing that we can depend on Trupanion.

WONDERFUL

WOW!This is my first experience w/ TRUPANION, so thank ful my vets recommended this company. I have been w/ VPI since 1989, have been happy w/ VPI, but TRUPANION WAS FANTASTIC! We recently had a huge scare w/ our 5 mo IrishWolfhound, thought we were going to loose him, emergency, many tests, inc a spinal tap, huge amount of meds, 5 days of hospitilization HUGE!! bill...TRUPANION was contacted by our vet immediately, their coverage is awessome, their response within hours!! Quincy is recovering well, eating, sleeping, finally no pain. LOVE LOVE LOVE TRUPANION!!

Our 14 month old Mastiff was diagnosed with Arthritis. I submitted my claims for the first diagnosis and it took over a month for TruPanion to pay for that claim. However, since then the claim turn around has been much faster. I thank them for helping us with our Young Puppy. She is a joy and we could not do what we do for her without Trupanion

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
