Great Peace of Mind

I previously had an adopted dog who developed severe orthopedic problems. The cost of physical therapy and other rehab. services just about 'broke the bank.' I swore that my next dog would have health insurance. After looking at multiple companies, I choose Trupanion. So far we haven't had any major health problems but Trupanion does pay 90% of the monthly cost of her eye drops for allergic conjunctivitus.I know that if she ever has a medical emergency or needs long term rehab services that Trupanion will be there so my girl can get the treatment she so rightly deserves.

Excellent service and responsiveness

Our 2 year old Coton de Tulear started shivering one night, and the next day it had not subsided. We wnt to our vet's office and they ran some tests to determine the problem. They found no specific issue, and recommended we take Tully to have a ultrasound exam. This also came back negative, and within about 2 or 3 days he recovered, with the help of some medication and digestive-problem dog food from the vet. Trupanion kept us informed daily as to the status of our claims and within just a week or so repaid us for the vet and ultrasound bills. We are very pleased with their service and their rapid responsiveness. Highly recommend them for any dog owner wanting to get the best care for their pet.

Amazing assistance with pet euthanization

We were struggling financially, due to the fact that we had just spent every last dime on trying to save our beloved 11 year old pug Henry. With no energy to talk or fight, Trupanion stepped in and made phones calls on my behalf. In less than half a day, I was informed that I could not only recieve financial assistance but that someone was going to come to my home and perform the euthanization. It made everything easier on me and my family and though it was the worst thing I've had to do in a long long time...without Trupanion and Kristen I would've been lost. I can't thank them enough or tell them how grateful we all are for their efforts. I am in their debt...thank you

surgery

my dog was approved for surgery at primary vet. when vet saw the extent of the injury,thankfully he said he was not qualified to do the surgery and sent us directly to trauma vet. trupanion did not want to pay because they had not approved for this vet to do surgery. thank God we didn't answer cell phone as we were driving and kept on to trauma vets office. we waited 41/2 hrs, with tru panion and the vets office telling them how badly she needed the surgery. they kept refusing, but after 4 hrs they relented and ok'd the surgery. we were all at our wits end by then. I am torn as to whether I would recommend them to anyone because of this. but they did ok surgery and gave me the amount I would be paying right away, so that was a positive in their favor.

Incredible Service When I Needed it Most

I cannot say how grateful I am to have found Trupanion Pet Insurance. I adopted a rescue dog who quickly became the love of my life and I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had Trupanion. About six months after I adopted Tulip, her back went out and over the next year, I received thousands of dollars in vet bills. Trupanion paid 90% of everything that was covered and direct deposited it into my bank account within a couple weeks. The process couldn't have been any easier. Not only did they do what they said they would, but I received emails from them asking how Tulip was doing and thanking me for taking such great care of her. Each time I called their office and spoke to someone on the phone I was always asked how she was doing in a genuinely caring voice. I recommend Trupanion with my highest possible recommendation!!!!

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
