100% happy with Trupanion!

I don't even know where to begin, I was skeptical when I got the insurance, never thought I would need it!! Until that fateful time my dog had a severe reaction to his shots ;(. A 5 hour trip to the specialist, many many tests and scans and meds and checkups later.....trupanion was there!! 100%, no questions asked, no fighting, arguing, just the concern for my pets well being!! I don't know what we would have done financially without them!! I tells everyone about trupanion!!! Anyone who has a pet needs to have trupanion!! You never knows when something is going to happen and for a small amount a month you can be prepared for the worst! The direct billing is amazing and claims are processed super fast!! I LOVES TRUPANION!!!!

Miniature Schnauzer with cancer

About a year after I insured my adopted, young, rescue dog, my dog was found to have soft tissue sarcoma. She has periodic x-rays and lab tests, and is on fairly expensive daily medication. Although Trupanion does not reimburse for the vet visits, they reimburse for all the related tests and medications. They pay the claims quickly, usually responding within a day and paying within a week. Because they pay based on condition, not the calendar, once I met the deductible, all covered expenses are paid, even across year-end. Being semi-retired, I don't know how i would manage without this coverage.

Excellent, claims are easy and paid promptly

My dog was diagnosed with cancer and trupanion has been great with the claims. They've paid everything promptly and they gave me a pre-approval very quickly so I could continue the treatment without any delays and without worrying about whether a whether an expensive treatment would be covered.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
