The Real Deal

Billie is doing quite well...fortunately, it was just a sprain. We submitted our claim form and was contacted, a few days later, by Trupanion that they had received the form and were reviewing it. Then, a few days went by, and we were once again contacted by Trupanion that they were ready to issue a check for the correct amount, after our deductible. It's wonderful knowing that a real company is there to honor it's commitment to it clients.

Exactly what was needed

I got on with Trupanion 3 months before my dog became chronically ill. He passed 3 months after that, but initially we had no idea how long he would be with us. I am so glad that this sad valley could be a little less deep. Trupanion pet insurance was a large hand of help. Instead of worrying about how I would pay for everything and letting it eat away at what little time I had left with my beloved pet, I could just simply spend uncomplicated time with my precious sweet baby, Cloud. The only blip was early on, it took a little while to get "medical records" accepted before the first reimbursement came through:almost two weeks. But ever since, no issues. I've been getting a 7-9 day turn around on reimbursement from submission of the claim to the check in my hand, which is perfectly easy to float on a credit card with no interest charges. I've never had any other pet insurance, but I'm very please with them and will remain with them for my remaining dog. And any future pets I may have.

disappointed

I took my dog to the vet for pain and sick, it was found that he had crystals in his bladder. Trupanion decided to not pay part of the claim because they thought my dog had pancreatitis which he did not we had them on food to make sure he didn't get a reoccurrence of it but they picked that out just to be able to discount part of the claim. I have my debt writing them another letter claiming the dog has not had pancreatitis since January 2013. We were just being extra careful with the food to make sure we didn't cause it to come back. My bed put my dog on a completely other food because of the crystals in his bladder. I had a lot of extra work for me with calling the insurance company and calling my vet and bothering my vet to try and get this straightened out very disappointing

The best!!!!

My Great Dane was diagnosed with a heart condition, that will unfortunately take his life...... He's on meds that are very expensive every month. The vet and emergency room bills are crazy expensive. Trupanion has paid literally 90% of everything. I could not have afforded to keep my dog alive throughout this without Trupanion. Don't look anywhere else. The reimbursement and pre approval of needed are very fast! You will not be disappointed with this company.

Removed cost from the decision making process.

Our cat was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma that is best treated with an aggressive, and expensive, multi-drug protocol. Not all cats have the personality to tolerate weekly visits to the veterinarian, thankfully our cat was very social with just about anyone. Quality of life was our utmost concern--NOT THE COST! Diagnostic tests and weekly visits quickly can add up to thousands of dollars. We cannot thank Trupanion enough for their quick claim settlements, friendly staff, and generous coverage (90%-much higher than most others.) Thanks to Trupanion, his cancer treatment was not based on whether or not we could afford it. We are telling everyone we know with pets how thankful we are for our Trupanion policy.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
