Great Service

I have been getting prompt service with Trupanion. My veterinarian contacts Trupanion on the same day of service and gets approved immediately. Coverage is quoted and I pay the balance before I leave the Vet's office. One negative comment: My premium rates doubled a year after my first major claim was filed.

I have been with trupanion right from the start I am very happy with the prompt service. Recently my dachshund Alfie 14years old needed a dental because of a bad nose infection they had to take a lot of teeth out the bill was almost $1000.00 within 10 daya I received a check for $630.00 I was very happy my credit people. Always tell people to get your insurance Thank you very much look forward to many more years with you.

Thank goodness for TruPanion.

Thank goodness for TruPanion. We have now had to submit two claims for Molly, the first one a life threatening ingestion of unknown origin that caused her to be hospitalized with a bill for close to $2000. Then she tore her cruciate ligament jumping onto an icy patch and during the healing time tore her meniscus- double whammy with two separate surgeries required. These two veterinary costs came to over $5000 in total, money we don't have so again, thank goodness for TruPanion! Our girl will recover soon and be back to her active happy self!

Excellent pet insurance in many ways

I've had Trupanion for my 2 dogs since 2011. One of my dogs, Jax has had 2 surgeries to remove a mast cell tumor & I was so thankful to have this insurance. This last year had been extremely tough as we found out in March our other dog, Zoe had a tumor in her intestines & carcinoma on her liver. The specialty vet wanted to due emergency surgery to try & remove the tumor. I had to pay $8k up front. I did not hesitate knowing I had insurance. Unfortunately they were not able to remove the tumor & we recently lost our beloved Zoe on Aug. 11th. Trupanion has been very compassionate through this process. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They are always quick to respond & process my claims. I always refer them to everyone I talk when we discuss our pets. They are the best!!!

Claim was submitted and settled in no time!

After my dog Colby was seen at our vet, I received an email that very same day from Trupanion, informing me that the claim was already being reviewed. I then received a check in the mail just about a week later. I have always been very impressed and pleased at the level of efficiency this company has shown me. I have also recommended Trupanion to several of my friends who have pets. Keep up the good work!

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
