I was relieved to have Trupanion quickly review the claim and not cause any delays or play games. Much better than my own health insurance!

Excelllent service from Trupanion!
Vet hospital submitted on a Sunday, Trupanion confirmed claim with 2-3 days. My only suggestion is they do direct deposit, not actual checks. They were great!

Terrible experience
Company refused to provide a guarantee of coverage, or pre-approval, before we made 15 phone calls to them including our veterinarian and emergency animal hospital staff members. Trupanion is absolutely horrid in terms of customer assurance and taking care of their customers. We will be canceling our policy and moving to another company.

Amazing
My dog ozzie had a MPL surgery at a approaching level 4 and trupanion took slot of the headache away! We got our money so quick, a couple days from when it was approved! It's been a lon 10 weeks but we were able to focus on his recovery solely and didn't have to worry about the financing part of it all! All in all they were amazing and I will never use another insurance company for him!

Quick & No Hassle!
I was skeptical about purchasing pet insurance and prepared myself for frustration with my claim. Much to my surprise, not only was the claim process simple and straightforward, but my claim was processed quickly and without pushback from the company. So glad I chose this company!
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
