Excellent insurance

I have insurance for my two dogs: Jesse, a collie, and Murphy, a Havanese. Jesse has hip dysplasia, neurological problems, and hypothyroidism. Over his five year lifespan I have made numerous claims for diagnostic tests, emergency visits, and medications. Trupanion has been invaluable in helping me with these large expenses, which totaled several thousand dollars just last year. Claims are paid promptly, and I've never had an issue with anything being rejected. While Murphy has never had to make a claim, I'm still happy to have the peace of mind knowing that I will never have to make a life or death decision for either of my dogs based on finances.

Turnaround time improving

I have dealt with various insurance companies over the years concerning reimbursements. I have received my money the next day when my dentist initiates claims. Concerning prescriptions, I've had to submit paper receipts that took 15 days. I'm happy to see Trupanion making the effort to improve their processing time. Now that I receive my money electronically, I was thrilled this most recent time, to see a bank deposit within the week! Bravo!! Keep up the good work.

Great claims service

Always amazed with the quick turnaround time on the claims. I have recommended Truepanion to many people based on the customer service and easy processing of claims. Unfortunately my dog suffers from allergies and having insurance with Truepanion has helped me to give her the best care possible.

ITS A LIFE SAVER

IT MAY SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, BUT ITS REAL AND SO COMFORTING TO KNOW NO MATTER WHAT I CAN TAKE CARE OF MY DOG. IF ONLY I WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT YEARS AGO, IT COULD OF SAVED MY OTHER DOGS LIFE. I AM SO GRATEFUL THAT TRUPANION EXIST AND ARE GENUINE IN WHAT THEY DO, A VERY REPUTABLE COMPANY! NO TRICKS OR GIMMICKS, YOU GET EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAY YOU GET. I WILL NEVER GET A PET WITHOUT IT!

Trupanion employees are there to truly serve!

I always like the friendly cheerful employees who are there to help in your animal's hour of need. They voice concern about my cats, and they do their best to uncomplicate the process. Even though I know they say it to every one of their clients, I always love it and take it to heart when I get Trupanion's thanks for taking such good care of my pets. I am affirmed that I do take great care of them. So it feels as if we are working together.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
