easy

sick puppy... some kinda virus. Vet gave options: 1. xray to see if blockage ($200) 2. anti-biotics ($35) Trupanion covered both, but i went with xray as my cost was only $20 and at least I knew there was zero blockage. Ended up needing both pills and xrays and many people would have chose the lesser cost option. Trupanion gave our dog the best possible care by taking money out of the equation. refund came within 10 days.

Awesome experience with Trupanion!!!

Our 5-year old Yorkie, Nano, was seriously ill, and it turned out she had a ruptured disc that required back surgery. The Trupanion representatives were very speedy and extremely supportive through the whole process. Nano's serious condition required us to go from initial vet consultation to neurologist to MRI to surgery -- all in a matter of only 3 days. Trupanion did an amazing job of working with us and the vet hospitals, and they got us all the necessary pre-approvals right away so we could proceed with confidence. In the end, I felt that the Trupanion staff was genuinely concerned about us and Nano, and they went above and beyond to take care of us. Thanks, Trupanion! We are already recommending you to all our friends and family!

They're great

Easy to bill (my vet does it for me) and by the time I get home from the vet visit I have an email from Trupanion regarding the claim- they pay very quickly also

So grateful for Trupanion

My dog has some chronic, and expensive, health issues that sometimes result in the need for emergency care. Trupanion is always amazing in dealing with all of our claims in a timely manner, and they've worked with our vet to pay them directly. The fact that they pay every claim at 90% because we've already met our deductible for this condition makes it so I never have to base decisions about Bubba's care on how much it'll cost. Additionally, when I do have to pay for things like medicine, or visits to specialists they process the claim incredibly quickly, Most of the time the money is in my account within 48 hours of having submitted the paperwork.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
