fantastic

Trupanoin has been there with us all the way through our dog Lexie's unfortunate battle with cancer this year. Always prompt with payments Trupanion has allowed us to continue Lexie's care right up to the point where she could no longer go on. Their rates are so reasonable and I will be continuing our coverage for our other dog Izzy even though we hope she will not need it. A heartfelt thank you to the whole team at Trupanion who have been kind and supportive and have been quick to answer all of our questions promptly with courtesy and sympathy. Again THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

Incredible Service

I had to take my dog to an after hours vet for a life threatening illness. The vet contacted Trupanion to verify my insurance. It was approved within 10 minutes. I had paid too much when I paid my deductible and I got a refund check back within 4 days. My dog has to have monthly shots for the rest of her life and Trupanion pays these every month, reimbursing me within a few days of each claim. Human health insurance should be this responsive and easy to use!!

Wonderful Customer Service Experience

Trupanion has been with us since we first got our Victorian Bulldog Mozzie. Their customer friendly approach to service and the options they provide are top notch. They are very clear in what they will and will not cover and they provide us quick and detailed responses as to what they have done and what they will do. Excellent service and worth the money, in my experience.

Trupanion rocks!

I have Trupanion coverage for my two 11 year old Tabby cats (brothers) and I couldn't be happier with their expedient responses and reimbursements. What a lifesaver. Literally. My furbaby, Ace, was recently hospitalized for almost a week with severe symptoms and I was able to provide him good care due to my coverage. Thanks Trupanion!

Life saving!

I never submitted a review for this in the past, but at 14 weeks old (back in March 2012) Jocko had an accident that broke both front legs. Had it not been for Trupanion, there is no way I could've afforded to get him the care he deserved. Now, more than 3 years later, Jocko is about to turn 4, and other than a slight bend to one of his legs you would never know he had surgery. He is hands down the best dog we have ever had and that wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for Trupanion. When claims were made it was a matter of two weeks at most between paying for the procedure and being reimbursed. Every dog my wife and I purchase will have Trupanion from the day we get them, no questions asked.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
