Feline T-cell lymphoma

My 13 year old cat was diagnosed with nasal lymphoma. Trupanion has been stellar. Not only did they give us a pre-approval within two hours, they have paid every claim promptly and correctly and even called me to ask if I would like the payments deposited directly into my account. The payments are deposited with lightening speed. I also appreciate the courteous 24 hour phone customer service and non-existent to short hold times.

Nothing But A Scam

One of the most scamming and unethical insurance companies I've ever had the displeasure to work with. The first claim I make, a small claims under $300, they keep telling me I'm fine and I'll be covered. I decided not to renew my coverage, so then I wait a month and keep following up on my claim, and then I finally get a phone call telling me my claim was denied because of some reason they literally just made up on the fly, saying I had to activate my insurance within 24 hours of adopting my dog but the shelter waited a few days to activate it. Because of this Trupanion claimed my coverage is null and void and that there's nothing I can do. They literally made up a reason to void claim because I decided not to continue my coverage way after I filed the claim, when they told me for a fact beforehand I'd be covered, and on a side note, they kept pressuring me and notifying me to renew my coverage. Worst insurance company, nothing but a huge scam, and they care nothing for your dog or their clients; the only thing that matters is their pocket and screwing their customers.

Trupanion is an excellent pet care insurance. No hassles and quick payment--sometimes payment is made electronically on the same day the claim is submitted.

Very fast processing time

I had to submit a claim for my dog after one year of chasing our tails trying to figure out why she was having recurring urinary tract infections. I agreed to have a vaginoscopy performed (cost was over $600.00) which uncovered the origin of all of her problems. Even better, I submitted all of my invoices for the past year and everything was covered! I was very happy with the incredibly fast processing time, I know for a fact that some other pet insurance companies have a 10 week processing time for claims, but I had cheque in-hand about a week after sending in my paperwork. Very impressed!

Best Choice We Have Made for Pet Care

Trupanion has been a literal lifesaver for us. We adopted our dog a year ago. At the time, he was 6 years old with an unknown history. After reviewing all of the pet insurance policy offers we received from the rescue we chose Trupanion because it seemed to be the most comprehensive. Also, they have a sliding scale that changes your copay based on the out of pocket per incidence amount that you choose and the additional items that you can ad and pay extra for like physical therapy, acupunture, etc. They have always paid quickly and are very prompt in all responses. My only regret is that we didn't choose a smaller out of pocket option! I highly recommend this company. They are better to work with than my personal health insurance company.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
