Thank you Trupanion

My cat was very sick and the vet didn't think he had a chance and suggested that maybe we should put him down, because he couldn't guarantee that he would make it if he treated him and the cost would be in the thousands , I said but I have pet insurance so we decided to try the treatment . That was last year and Buckwheat is still with us today. Trupanion was very fast to settle the claim. Thank you Trupanion for caring and checking in wiithus about Buckwheat

First time claim

I recently submitted my first claim through Trupanion for my cat, and the process was very easy! My vets office had me sign the paper, and my cats vet filled out the information regarding why I had to bring in my cat. They sent it in, and I was notified by email and phone was everything was received. It was my first claim so there was about a two week waiting period. Once everything went through, I received an email about the claim. I contacted Trupanion by phone for some questions, and they were very good about answering them. When I finished asking questions, the agent on the phone with me then asked how my cat was doing. A small gesture, that I was grateful for! I've since had direct deposit added, and a new claim for blood work, and urine sample were refunded quickly! Really easy to work with, and fast responses. I highly recommend them!

cost of pet care

My 2yr old Doberman has had various issues. They are very costly and without Trupanion Insurance would have been impossible to treat and cure. This is the 1st time I got pet insurance and am so thankful that I chose Trupanion. You have an instant "eash button" with trupanion. Thank you Trupanion

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
