Quick and efficient
Claim process very easy. Spoke with Trupanion rep on the phone and he knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. The claim was paid within two weeks of submitting the same.I am an insurance agent and know the claims process can be difficult and frustrating.
My experience with Trupanion was neither. Hope I do not have to make anymore claims, but am confident that Trupanion will be there for me and my dog if I do.

Trupanion is a Wonderful Insurance Company
I decided to purchase pet insurance for my puppy when he was a few months old. My previous dog passed away, which left us with an unbelievable amount of heartbreak, plus thousands of dollars in vet bills. Thank God I purchased Trupanion. They are amazing and have gone above and beyond to help us with the three claims. The first claim was an eye contusion from playing with another dog, the second was major surgery, and the last was for allergy testing. Their client service and communication is as good as it gets. Every representative has always been friendly and helpful. Trupanion has helped me keep my pet healthy and happy!!!

Splendid
Last April I insured my dog Seven, 11 yrs old. Although she had been extremely healthy all her life I worried that she might get cancer at her old age and because I was financially strapped I did not want to be faced with the horrible decision to euthanize her because I wouldn't be able to afford treatment. I was surprised trupanion approved her, and for a decent rate. A mere six months later Seven had a grand mal seizure, and another one within 12 hours. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Trupanion came through with flying colors and reimbursed us for the costs as promised. She still has more treatment to go but so far we are very satisfied.

Great experience!!
Trupanion people were so great to deal with! My 12 year old baby had to have a splenectomy and my claim was paid quickly and with absolutely no problems. I would highly recommend Trupanion!!
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
