very supportive & reliable insurance company

Trupanion is the best pet insurance company that I do not hesitate to recommend any pet owners and I actually did that with my co-workers & other pet owners @ the Vetcare/emergencyclinic. The staff @ the company is very supportive and there is always someone answer the phone( not the machine)& treat the customers nicely; there is the human touch ! Pet owners need that at the time of distress when their pets are injured or very sick and most important is that we know that we have the financial support to help with the big bills. They have done above and beyond !!! A big "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart.

they were the best

I had other pet insurance and by far Trupanion is the best. They make it easy and they pay you immediately. Most importantly when my dog passed they were kind, empathic and sent me a note to say how sorry they were. That meant the world to me.

Great company

I have been with Trupanion for a few years now and they are a very good company! They have always processed our numerous claims in a timely manner and are very knowledgable in terms of whats covered and what's not. But I knew they really cared when my dog Max passed away after a battle with cancer, when I called them to let them know that he had died and to cancel his coverage , the rep I spoke to started to become upset as she told me, she too had recently lost a dog to cancer . I was truly impressed with the compassion Trupanion has shown me and my dogs hands down the best insurance coverage you could possibly provide for your pet.

Quick and easy

My 16 month old English Spronger Spaniel had a growth that was growing and bleeding. We had it removed. It was benign! Once I reviewed the policy, I followed the instructions and gathered the required documentation and filled out the claim form. I sent all info in. Soon after that I received an e-mail confirmation that my claim had been received and was being reviewed. In a timely manner I received the review of what was eligible to claim and shortly after that I received my check.Thank you for a prompt review and response.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
