Claim was submitted and settled in no time!

After my dog Colby was seen at our vet, I received an email that very same day from Trupanion, informing me that the claim was already being reviewed. I then received a check in the mail just about a week later. I have always been very impressed and pleased at the level of efficiency this company has shown me. I have also recommended Trupanion to several of my friends who have pets. Keep up the good work!

Couldn't be happier

I have been with Trupanion for almost 5 years now. My dog has needed 3 surgeries on her leg and I couldn't be happier with the service with trupanion. They process the claims promptly, they follow up with emails. I truly believe I have an insurance for my pet that really "cares about my dog" it's great to know. In the time of a difficult and emotional event for your dog. Financially I do. It have to worry because trupanion is there to protect my pet and her financial needs.

cataract Surgery

Trupanion has been great at covering the medical expenses for our dog. He has had many medical conditions including going blind because of cataracts. Surgery to correct this condition was covered by Trupanion and we were re-imbursed the portion they covered in 3 days. Awesome insurance company.

Trupanion leads the pack

I am always astounded at the speed at which claims are handled. Trupanion not only reimburses me quickly, but staff communicate effectively from the moment the claim is received through processing. We are very pleased with the coverage our dog has received over the past seven years, especially for all the medications and tests needed to treat his chronic diseases.

Hassle free coverage; they give what they promise

I have had Trupanion for ~ 8 months to cover my Great Dane. Given what I was going to pay for him and the various things he could be prone to, I felt like insurance was prudent. I did an absolute ton of research into all of the major companies. I weighed all of the pros/cons -- there's no one company that's perfect (example: I really wish Trupanion had some form of coverage for at least a portion of the exam), but for what I needed Trupanion seemed best. I was amazed at how for each and every company (to include Trupanion), there were reviews that said they were absolutely fantastic and others that said they'd rather lose their right arm than go with this company again. I can honestly say that thus far, my experience has been perfect. I have a zero deductible plan. I go to the vet and pay my bill. My vet submits the claim to Trupanion for me (the claim form takes about 10 seconds to fill out) and voila: a check for 90% of what's covered arrives in the mail. No hassles, questions, resubmissions or attempts to hide behind tricky language so as not to pay. I get an email to say they've received my claim and another that says the check's on the way. I've probably submitted 5-6 claims thus far and have yet to have a problem. I can honestly say I've been very satisfied. Even their phone people were nice when I called

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
