so glad I have trupanion

I have been with trupanion for almost 8 years now and I have always been impressed with how easy it is to file a claim and how efficient the claim process is. I am kept informed via email every step of the way during the claim process and the claim is processed in a very timely better. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a pet especially a purebred.

One of My Best Decisions Ever!

I wish my own health insurance was as simple as Trupanion. I've been super pleased by the quick responses and ease of completing a claim form. I recommend to all my friends with dogs or cats.

Wish my own health insurance were this good!

We have had Trupanion for our terrier mix (now almost seven) since he was a pup, and we are so happy we got Trupanion. Ozzie has had a lot of unexpected issues: an acorn stuck in his throat when he was three months; a torn groin muscle at about two years; two attacks of pancreatitis due largely to his desire to eat absolutely anything he can get in his mouth; bites by large dogs twice. Trupanion has more than paid for itself, and the claims process is extremely easy and fast. I wish my own health insurance would spell out as clearly what is covered and what isn't.

Love love LOVE Trupanion!!!

Trupanion has been there throughout my (fairly healthy) dogs life. They're customer service is fantastic! My claims have been paid directly to my hospital while I was paying! So i never paid my whole bill, only my very small portion! It was awesome. Love the company, love the coverage, never had a problem with 3 other pets previously either. Their prices are slightly more than other quotes I got, but you get what you pay for - a high quality company!!!

Good coverage, wonky billing reconciliation

Trupanion continues to be a wonderful service. I realize that my pet's illness has consumed all of the premiums I have paid over the years making my account a "loss" for the company's bottom line. However, I appreciate that Trupanion's staff is always caring and professional when working to handle my pet's claims. The one area that needs improvement in the pet insurance and veterinarian care universe is billing coordination. It's enough stress to have a pet with a serious illness. I don't enjoy seeing strange bills from my vet because their billing cycle doesn't match Trupanion's. I also tend to panic when vets and clinics have trouble navigating Trupanion's claim and pre-authorization system. It's a lot of paperwork and stress when you're standing at the counter while your pet is afraid and in pain and you have to figure out why you're staring at a $900 visit bill. I recommend Trupanion, I really do. And I sincerely hope that they can differentiate themselves from other insurance providers by creating a smooth and stress-free claims experience.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
