Don't use this coverage- Very shady delealings

You must give Trupanion a list of the vets your pet may have visited. Then as you turn in claims every claim becomes a "pre-existing condition" They do not tell you up front what conditions will be excluded, they just start collecting premiums. So as you submit claims, one by one you are told "pre-existing condition- so no coverage" My dog had surgery for something in his paw that caused a large swelling. Surgery was performed and the Surgeon left a message on my cell stating the findings were consitent to support a foreign body in the paw. You guessed it. Trupanion denied the claim as a pre-existing condition. Even when the recording was passed onto the Trupanion Rep and the claims people, they all went dark and no one would respond.

First time I had pet insurance...happy I got it!

I have had pets my whole life and never had insurance for them. Very happy I got this for both my cats. Staff was very helpful on the phone, as I have eye issues and need a bit of help with the claim forms. Just received my reimbursement for an issue for one of my boys, and it was processed quickly. Confident Trupanion will be there for me should I need them again.

Excellent and Thorough

Trupanion did cover 90% of the covered treatments, which would have been prohibitively expensive.

Awesome !!

After taking my dog in several times for bladder infections, my vet recommended Trupanion pet insurance. The best thing I ever did!! Amazing customer service. They take the time to listen and address all your concerns. I accidentally threw away a refund check and they were gracious enough to reissue it for me. I doubt that would happen with another company. I recently added my other dog to my policy as well. Love this company!! Woof!

A literal life saver

While yes Trupanion does not cover preexisting conditions and that has been disappointing with our frenchie Shilo's chronic dermatitis, having insurance allowed us to follow proper radiation treatment when Shilo was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year. They literally saved her life! We would not have been able to do the treatment otherwise, and Trupanion continues to cover her meds and additional treatment for this condition. They are so great that my dad and sisters also got Trupanion for their pets, and I will continue recommending them to everyone! When it came down to a life or death situation with our dog, Trupanion really came through for us.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
