Such Peace of Mind

I have two American Staffordshire Terriers, the most incredible pets in the world. They play very physical. About 3 years ago Roscoe was limping one day and was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee, I was terrified because of the costs that would ensue. I had purchased Trupanion Insurance for Roscoe as recommended by my Vet a year and half earlier. The operation came to approximately 4000.00. There was no way I would have been able to come up with that out of pocket and wait for reimbursement after all was said and done. All other insurance companies make you pay first then re-imburse you. Roscoe would have had to stay lame. Trupanion paid all expenses directly to the doctor except for the 10% Deductible. The Doctor informed me that the other knee would probably give out within the next year or two, well, exactly that did happen, approximately 1 year later. The experience with Trupanion was exactly the same, outstanding. They constantly reached out during and after the operations to make sure Roscoe was ok with compassion, reassurance & professional. All correspondence was done in a timely fashion. Trupanion is without a doubt the best there is, second to none. It's like an extension of Roscoe's family.

The best pet insurance

The premiums are good. You get to pick and choose your deductible and monthly premium. Our dog had bladder stones and had to have surgery.The total cost of the surgery was over 4,000. Within a few weeks we had a check minus the deductible and they paid 90% of the cost. They do not pay for any exams with emergencies. I am so glad we had this insurance. It would have been a lot all at once out of our pocket. You do have to pay up front to the vet but overall it is a great plan. Highly recommend.

So Great!

My little cat, Suzie, was found when she was about 5 weeks old about to be covered in fertilizer at the place where my husband worked. He stopped the machine and picked her up and promised that he would always take good care of her. So glad we got the insurance for this little girl...she has had some issues but is fairly healthy. She was a feral baby but is so happy to have a home. Thanks to Trupanion we can make sure she has the best of care. Thank you so much. I've recommended this company to all my friends.

Life Savers!!!!

So glad we got Trupanion insurance for our puppy! She ended up being very sick at a very young age needless to say our vet bills seemed endless! Very scary receiving bill after bill for care that we needed in order to keep our very young puppy alive. Trupanion was definitely there every step of the way and helped us pay up most of our bills. Trupanion definitely hold true to their word they paid 90% of our bills thankfully because up to now we have had at leave $3000 in medical expenses for our puppy. I would absolutely urge anyone to get insurance for their puppy you never know what could happen! I couldn't imagine not having this safety net to keep our minds at ease!

Huge premium increase for 1 yr. old puppy!

Purchased Trupanion pet insurance for my new puppy 1 year ago. Premium was $38/mo. Just received notice that the premium is increasing to over $50/mo!! That is a 33% increase with no claims or health issues. Very disappointed- will be cancelling.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
