Did you know that cancer is a pre…

Did you know that cancer is a pre existing condition? Because Trupanion will tell you it is. My cat was diagnosed with lymphoma last month. They are saying he had it on his date of enrollment over a year ago. Lymphoma is a fast aggressive cancer. If he had it over a year ago, he'd be dead by now. Such a scam. they take your money and use any excuse they can to deny you when you need them most. STAY AWAY!!!

coverage benefits are misleading

My pet had never used the policy after paying for almost 3 years. She developed a large skin tag on her eye that was growing quickly and needed to be removed asap. Because she had a skin tag in the past they refused to cover. Skin tags are common with dogs and I found this unreasonable.

Expensive but we need it.

I don’t like the idea of prices going up every year , it is very expensive, but we have 3 dogs and we need it . Soon it will be so expensive I might as well pay it myself because I need the help because sometimes I don’t have the money to pay the bill but if I put the $560.00 a month away in the bank till I need it and probably save some money.

Expensive but good

My dog has been with Trupanion for 7 years. She has multiple health problems, is on 2 medications and has had an MRI -Trupanion has helped with all that, and it is an easy process to submit a claim. My only beef is that they are so expensive. After another increase, I am up to $100 a month. Even with all her health problems, I would have been better off had I not had insurance and had instead, just tucked the money aside for “in case.” That’s what I will do next time.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
