Beware of these scam artists. Started out paying 56 per month, 5 years later premiums 106 per month with out a phone call or anything to discuss and this with zero claims.

We use Trupanion's medical pet…
We use Trupanion's medical pet insurance for both of our dogs.
We have a Rottweiler Mix, and a Rottweiler. Of course, being a large breed, they are at a higher risk for many health and joint issues.
In December of 2018, we realized our Rottweiler Mix (Mia) was showing lameness in one of her back legs, and was having trouble standing after laying down for a while. She was only three, so we didn't think she could possibly have any joint issues yet! However, after a visit to the vet and some X-rays we found out Mia had a torn cranial cruciate ligament and a partially town meniscus in one of her back legs, and also had hip dysplasia. This meant a very expensive surgery and a lot of pain medications to follow. Thankfully, we had coverage with Trupanion! That meant we had the majority (90%) of our vet bills covered! This saved us so much stress! We were able to focus all of our attention and time on Mia's recovery, and not worrying about how we were going to pay for Mia's surgery and care.
Our vet took care of sending the claim to Trupanion for us, and within no time at all I received the email that we were approved and how much Trupanion would be covering.
They were absolutely excellent to deal with when I called with my many questions since it was our first time making a claim.
I strongly recommend Trupanion to anyone welcoming a new pet into their family!

Save ur money to pay for vet bills. Out of $404 Trupanion gave me $22. Better to start savings account with the premiums
Basically after 4 yrs of premiums i got $22 paid. Not worth it. Better to save monthly that premium and u have a nest egg for emergencies

Great Insurance company
The coverage is great and affordable. Never have an issue submitting a claim or getting help with any questions or concerns. There have been a few glitches with my online account and getting my pets on the same policy but they were quick to resolve it.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
