Excellent Claims Experience and Fast Reimbursement

I recently submitted my first claim with Pumpkin Pet Insurance for my kitten, Donatello, and I had a great experience. The claims process was straightforward, communication was clear, and my claim was reviewed without any issues. My veterinary bill was around $127, and Pumpkin reimbursed approximately $95, which I felt was fair based on my policy. Receiving the reimbursement gave me peace of mind and reinforced that having pet insurance was a worthwhile decision. As a first-time pet owner, it's reassuring to know that when unexpected veterinary expenses come up, Pumpkin follows through on its coverage. I'm very happy with my experience so far and would recommend Pumpkin to anyone looking for reliable pet insurance.

Easy to file a claim

Easy to file a claim. Payments were fast. I even had it go directly to my Care Credit card, which is great because that card is just for mr pets.

I submitted claim for paid invoice of…

I submitted claim for paid invoice of an abdominal ultrasound, pleasantly surprised on how quick the claim was approved & paid ! A different invoice for paid prescription medication refill took much longer. I initiated chat & asked for a live agent but never got connected, was told someone would be with me soon….but no one did. Eventually that invoice got approved.

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
