Outstanding Customer Service
It is important to have the correct information and submit the proper paperwork to ensure the claim is processed smoothly. Although the process has taken a little longer than expected, the claim is being handled, and the overall service has been excellent. I truly appreciate the effort and professionalism shown throughout the process.

Do not recommend
Was told claim process was 3-5 days when I signed up in January. Then when I had to take my cat to vet in April I submitted claim waited months only to be denied. When I called they said it was because they needed all vet records (which they have) and first claim takes longer. Was told it would be "pushed to the top of the pile" and now it's July 10th and can't even get a response to email sent 15 days ago.

I purchased the Pet insurance to cover…
I purchased the Pet insurance to cover having to take him for a wellness check within 48 hours of purchasing him.
This is my first experience of getting my new fur baby and no one walked me through all the details of what I should do and not do regarding getting him checked out because it was expensive to have purchased and to pay out of pocket for a wellness check within 48 period it was very confusing and I felt overwhelmed after trying to submit the reimbursement for my expenses for the wellness checks and the follow ups I had only had him for 2 days.
To learn that none of my claims were not paid it is a waste of money what am I paying a monthly subscription for if I’m not going to be reimbursed for my out of pocket I’m paying twice that doesn’t seem right.
Just being honest this is all new to me I never received a call back when I tried to get help with understanding what Pumpkin really does and the true benefit of what I’m paying for.

Monthly Cost
Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.
Coverage
Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.
Payout Limits
Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.
Deductible
3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000
Age Limits
No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.
Waiting Period
Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
