Super easy claim process, just wish payouts were a bit faster
We’ve been with Pumpkin for two years now. We didn’t have to file any claims during our first year, but this past year we had to submit several.
When I was shopping around initially, Pumpkin wasn't the cheapest premium estimate I received, but I'm really glad we went with them. The process of filing a claim is incredibly quick and simple. My only real minor complaint is that the reimbursement payout is on the slower side. To be fair, that might be because I don't have direct deposit set up, so they have to mail me physical checks, but it's still worth noting.
Overall, the ease of the claim process itself makes the slightly higher premium worth it. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for hassle-free filing.

Monthly Cost
Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.
Coverage
Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.
Payout Limits
Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.
Deductible
3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000
Age Limits
No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.
Waiting Period
Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
