Highly recommend Prudent Pet insurance…
Our 2 yo pup got into something she should not have been able to access (smart and curious) so had to go to emergency vet on a Sunday night, of course. Admitted for 4 nights, w meds, labs, IV fluids and monitoring. Submitted our receipts within a week of her coming home and got a "We will mail you a check for requested amount" email within 2 days, if not 1 day. Received the check within 2 weeks for sure, maybe sooner. Very easy and paid without any resistance. Fair warning, I didnt recognize the amount of the check nor the name on it but could tell it was insurance but I didnt know for what, so was kind of hesitant to cash it. Called the business name on the check (tho that name was on my Prudent Pet policy) and told me pet insurance. Lol, so happily cashed it. Very easy process

Monthly Cost
Monthly rates start at $10 for Accident only and $16 for Accident & Illness coverage. Those rates vary based on species, age, breed as well as your location.
Coverage
We cover based on the actual vet bill and have options for 90%, 80% or 70% reimbursement.
Payout Limits
We offer limits of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 and an unlimited plan. There are no lifetime limits with any option you choose.
Deductible
Choose a deductible that works best for you and your family, we offer $100, $250 and $500 options.
Age Limits
We have no age limits, but your pet will need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.
Waiting Period
For our accident & illness plans (essential & ultimate), we have a 14-day waiting period. Our accident-only policy only has a 5-day waiting period. There is no waiting period for wellness coverage.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered by our policies.
Optional Wellness Details
We have two preventive/wellness plan options. Our basic option costs $9.95/month* and our Prime option costs $24.95/month*. These cover things like wellness exams, dental cleanings, or flea/heartworm prevention. Reimbursement for these is based on a set maximum annual amount.
