Don't Reimburse Chronic Conditions

They don't reimburse vet fees for chronic conditions. My cat has 2 chronic conditions - 1 that started 6 months after the effective date, and 1 that started 1.5 years after the effective date. PetsBest keeps saying the conditions started before the effective date, which is untrue to anyone with vet knowledge who actually looked at the medical records. When I put in an appeal and gave them medical records from each doctor he has seen, the first level appeal "response" after 4 months was a request for more medical records (all other medical records they requested previously). Doing everything they can to stall and not pay out a cent.

I like that I get updates on my claim and an explanation of coverages for every claim. I’m always put at ease when taking my pet to the vet because I have pets best.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
