Will not pay claims

I have had pet insurance for over 22+ years for my rescue dogs. I got a new rescue dog and decided to try out this company since it had a high internet rating. I, very stupidly decided to change pet insurance companies to Pets Best Insurance. Do NOT waste your time or money on this company. They will not pay out claims even though it very plainly states what they will pay out on their Internet site. Once you sign up and submit a claim, then you get an email back stating that it will be "40 days" before expecting payment. My other pet insurance company paid within 3 days of submitting claims and was excellent on paying out. This company makes up all kinds of excuses as to why they won't pay. I had to personally go to my vet's office and get all the documentation to prove the diagnosis. They would not even pay out on their wellness benefits. DO NOT GO WITH Pet's Best Insurance Company!!!

Pets Best is absolutely outstanding

Pets Best is absolutely outstanding. We have 2 Bernese Mountain dogs insured and couldn't be happier with their service. Claims processing is simple, easy and quick and policy terms and pricing clear. We've recommended them to several friends and will continue to do so.

Awful company

I never take the time to write online reviews. This is my first. Absolute worst company and they should not be allowed to do business. They reject claims for no reason and raise premiums annually. Last year we got hit with a 30% bump. Also be aware if you move. My monthly rate doubled going from one state to another. DOUBLED. Infuriating.

I have called twice on this particular…

I have called twice on this particular claim and submitted all the requested documentation. Despite this, the claim denied again as a duplicate. Called and spoke to the rep who stated what I already knew and he said the claim will be sent back for reprocessing. I am not confident since this last call was a repeat of the previous call.

Claims turn around is super slow

Claims turn around is super slow. Switched my 7 month old dog to this insurance because on paper it looked so much better than what we had. Grass wasn't greener! We switched back to the original insurance. It's a good insurance if you start with them from the beginning, but claims do take awhile but once it is done, they will cover a lot. Watch out for those"preexisting conditions". A prior ear infection from when my dog was 14 weeks stopped him from getting any of his future bills covered for any ear infections.

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
